Well this was a lot less of a week off work than I expected, but after scrapping 90% of what I had planned I can still turn in something that has a beginning, middle, and end. I did get a lot of ideas for writing a retro-jrpg game engine, though!

Fairy Kingdom - Complete

I worked hard yesterday and implemented most of the features I wanted. Plus listed all the final touches today. Just uploaded. I'm pretty happy with it.


I would have liked to add more fine tuning for say, how aggressive and frequent the orc invasions are. But I think the level it is set at keeps things interesting. It will probably usually cause a wipe out within a few minutes, but if you use the fairy powers to kill orcs or block them off from your town, you can probably keep things going much longer. But it probably won't be much fun to do that after a point.

Hi everyone :)

I've just sent the final package containing the project and Windows build. I won't have more time to work on it today. 

I'm pretty happy with the game, except the sound. Today I thought it would be nice to have a PvP in the game. Awesome thing was that adding it was just switching AI component with PlayerInput component on the second vessel. If my game state management was not total crap until then, the whole feature would take me like a half an hour. In such moments you appreciate time spent on the framework.

The game is finished.
I hope there is no remaining bugs.
Also, I could not test the game on Windows and Mac.
It's in python3, as requested in the discussion, and uses pygame. Let me know if there is something not working and I will upload a corrected version.

No Entry - Done!

Well, after a whole day struggle, I give up, I found that not every one can be 'Numerical Game Designer'.  My game is a tower defense game, how to balance the tower and enemy, and how to design the game pace, both are problems :)

Anyhow, I am satified with the final result, it is buggy, I know, but my victory is I have finished it. During the debuging, I nearly lose my patience, by chance, my son came to bother me, he is only 3 years old, and know nothing about computer game, but he was attracted by the car in my game, so he claimed me to play it again. At that time, I suddenly found my game is not that bad :) Of course, compared to commecial game, there is a long way, just for fun, it is enough. And it is also my first tower defense game, I can do it, maybe next time I will try dota :)

This time I use kivy, I know it is not as friendly as pygame, I will try to package it, good luck to me :)

Rodentopia - Day 7 - Finished Brainstorming

        I finished my brainstorming today. I don't have time to do any work today, I'm at a Magic Tournament at my friends house (who knew Ixalan had so many dinosaurs? Oh wait a minute, Ixalan is mainly attacking. Never mind.). I've broken down all the levels into separate parts, 5 exactly. I should be done around 9 - 10 AM tomorrow (No, this is not my last day. I'm in a far off time zone, so I stared on Saturday the 14th, and will end on Saturday the 21st.). I'm not to package any binaries for macOS or Linux. I'm just going to do one for Windows, because that is much easier for me to do, and I don't know how to package binaries for Linux, and I don't have the time to learn either.


        I'm so tired. And I only have to go through one more day running on 6 hours of sleep. I'm going to do a lot of sleeping after this (and I will be voting, don't worry.). I might give out some random award, don't know what it will be yet.


        I have to go play another match with somebody soon, so I'm gonna go, and take a short nap.
