Lost&Found - Somehow I did something

Posted by Proiz92 on 2023/09/23 15:49

Hi there! last time I wrote here I was somehow telling that I wouldn't make it to partecipate the gamjam.
Well, I couldn't exploit all the time, but I managed to do something reducing the working time. I made a text adventure game with some images generated with AI using an online tool called nightcafè.
I'm not sure if it is clear enough. If you play it keep in mind that the prompt should be something like "go west" or "use tool on object".
This is not even close to some games I saw in the past pyweeks, but I'm proud I could partecipate anyway!
Hope you like the concept, hopefully I will make it better in the future!

Untitled Pyweek36 game *Will rename this later* - ....DNF and future plans ahead

Posted by Phantasma on 2023/09/23 14:41

It's not worth the sleep depravation to try to finish the project in short notice. Work and college unfortunately got in the way. Rather than try to push it Its best to call this off.

Even though this is going to be another DNF, I will by trying the following in between game jams. I'll be simulating a few practice runs and come up with weekly projects to attempt to create and finish in preparation for next PyWeek game jam. Perhaps by that time, I'll accumulate enough practice and skill to finally produce a good working game similar to that "6-crates" game I've done long ago.

Best wishes to everyone still in this.

Galactic Harvesters - Day 5 - First Release

Posted by cprogrammer1994 on 2023/09/22 19:39

Video demo: https://youtu.be/04alBvihDqk

Added an interactive tutorial scene, polished the rest.
I wanted to finish a day earlier in case something goes wrong.
Everything went as planned and I am happy with the outcome.

Blobbing Blob - quite a lot has been done

Posted by heko on 2023/09/22 02:10

man it's been a lot of work:

- dev team has implemented physics, character movement, block spread, and other mechanics along the way, and a myriad of other important things.

- BGM is here, sfx is still underway

- sprites and animation is on it's last phase

- level design on it's way

Dark Matter Mage - PAINTing a picture of our progress

Posted by coffee on 2023/09/21 22:00

So, with today almost being concluded, here is a little update on our progress:

Today, we added/fixed:

  • Some animations
  • The last menus
  • Lighting
  • Room (off-)loading
  • A player ability that revolves around gravity
  • The first steps of making the HUD look nice

The last steps sadly also mean that our placeholder paint icons had to go... :(

The next few days are (mostly) about polishing and adding the final boss.

Ultra Large Scale Structure - 9/21/23 ULSS Update

Posted by Simulan on 2023/09/21 20:55

Detailed galaxy structure formation using multiple 3D textures with a compute shader to produce a real-time visualization:

Currently due to the specific data requirements exceeding a single F_rgba32 (GLSL image3D's) maximum size, and some really specific low-level implementation details of cross-vendor drivers, this simulation repo may receive a "special" version for platforms which do not meet these lofty compute shader requirements.

Galactic Harvesters - Day 4 - Work In Progress

Posted by cprogrammer1994 on 2023/09/21 19:57

Audio is working, (sort of).
The game is already fullscreen and most of the work was put into the audio, no GIF this time.
The intro is complete (music, animation, timing).

Ranger & Bailey - Not looking good

Posted by Itsbailey-X3525 on 2023/09/21 12:21

My teammate Ranger hasn't been active for the past week and hardly any progress has been made so its looking like we're going to get a DNF for this pyweek :(

The Dark Matters - Day 3

Posted by Squawylaous on 2023/09/21 11:03

I think it's day 3? Well the end of day three anyway. I'm too tired right now to go into detail about everything I did. The big takeaway is I heavily improved my game's polish, and even added a system to make animating in game cutscenes a thousand times easier for myself. My eyes keep fogging over as I write this, telling me it's time to go to bed. But I doubt I will be able to fall asleep easily, as my thoughts are filled with the creechure. It could be anywhere. It could eventhe chreechure spinningbe in this diary entry. One thing's for sure, it's living in my head rent free.
