Latitude - Aftermath

Posted by kent_turbo on 2008/04/06 00:33

This was a triumph, even if my game didn't make it. Somehow, I spent so much time developing "engine", that I had only few hours to make a game with it, and of course I failed. There's a maze, and turrets that fire lasers at you, and you can move around, but despite coding to the last minute, I was unable to get actual gameplay in.

Also, albeit registering solo entry, my friends hopped in midway and helped me to handle drawing and music.

Don't know if we made it on time or not - sent Richard our md5 checksum 9 minutes after the deadline. We experienced some bad networkness due to my shitty VPS. Anyhow the game is kind of broken now - haha! :)

... but we think it looks rather nice ;)

For all those l33t participants who are down with the Double Dog HG - mercurial it be - here's checkoutage for yuh safas in yuh schnizzy frizz frizz:

hg clone http://hg.enterthefoo.com/roboto roboto-readonly

Do some:

$ cd roboto-readonly
$ python run_game.py

EnterTheFooo - Stochasm

Posted by cthulhu on 2008/04/06 00:19

Stochasm is a game where you type funny-sounding-words to a lost robot who doesn't quite understand what you're saying but blindly trusts in your funny-sounding pronouncements.

Magma Team - Final Entry

Posted by satanas666 on 2008/04/06 00:17

Well this is our last and final entry. We had a lot of stress in the end but enjoyed the PyWeek compo and that's matters! Congratulations and good luck to everyone!

Fount of Untapped Ideas - Final glitch at the last minute

Posted by MattS on 2008/04/06 00:07

We were not able to submit the gzipped file but hopefully the md5sum and hash got through on time to validate our submission. Also I must apolagise to one of our team members, I quoted his name Andy Beany in the doc file when it should be Andy Borrell, sorry for the mixup.

Jazaian - Maybe we were too late :(

Posted by Bob the Hamster on 2008/04/06 00:06

I can't find the file upload button anymore, so I guess we were too late :(

Well, if you want to play anyway, you can download the source here: pyweek-jazaian-robot-src.tar.gz. it requires pygame, pyopengl, and motherhamster. wxpython is optional for those who want to use the editor.

For those of you too lazy to separately install motherhamster, here is a copy with it bundled in: pyweek-jazaian-robot-src+motherhamster.tar.gz

I'll post links to mac and windows packages soon.
