March 2023 challenge: “In the shadows”
Slayer in the Shadows - Day 1: Planning and Templating

We're making it the best of it though. Like most other people, when we heard "In the shadows," we thought of a stealth game. We'll be making a 2d side-scrolling platform game about a ninja/assassin taking out the members of an evil organization. The player must sneak around and quickly take out as many enemies as possible before it's too late!
We're going to be using Arcade. Last week, we made (the start of) a tower defense game to get a feel for the library, as many of us had never used it before. It went decently well, so I'm confident we can all make use of this framework to make something cool. We're also utilizing the Tiled level editor for making maps. I used Piskel to get the template sprites, but we'll probably find some assets online.
So far we just have some template character sprites (blue rectangle), enemy sprites (red rectangle), and some floor blocks (grey squares). Here's a small demo:
Phantasma's Dark House Simulator - End of Day 1 Update: Delayed Start

It will at least have the following features: Start, Options, How To Play, Credits, Exit.
While I'm working on setting up the title screen/menu it I have to decide what kind of game Its going to be. Something tells me its going to be a basic 2D stealth game if anything.

Shadow Heist - Changing Engines

The first 15 hours of PyWeek have been a rollercoaster of emotions. We started off strong with ursina, hoping to try something new and innovative. But as the day wore on, we realized that ursina was holding us back more than it was helping us.
We had a tough decision to make. Do we stick with Ursina and hope it gets better? Or do we switch to the trusty old Arcade, which has helped us win awards in the past?
After much deliberation, we made the call to switch back to Arcade. It wasn't an easy decision, and part of us is still curious about what Ursina could have offered. But we knew we had to do what was best for our team and our game.
So here we are, halfway through day 1, back in the familiar territory of Arcade. It feels like coming home after a long journey. We know what to expect, and we know we can deliver a solid game with this framework.
But we can't get complacent. PyWeek is a marathon, not a sprint. We have six more days of hard work ahead of us, and we can't afford to waste a minute.
So let's buckle down, team. We've got this. We'll make something great, something that will make us proud.

Journey To Fairy City - Starting with the idea!
Posted by Shyr on 2023/03/26 03:29
We were running in circle in a road, without knowing, because it was near a fairy city. The idea was that we needed to stop near a fire pit in the middle of the road and help the person that was there... This way we could prove the fairies we are worth continuing our journey ...
OF COURSE THAT WAS NOT WHAT HAPPENED.
But you will know what we did tomorrow, now a little bit about what I'm going to do in the game:
You will start near a fire pit that casts some light around... All you can see are the trees nearby that block the light from going further ... You can imagine what you'll have to do, right?!
Thanks for reading, sorry for my bad English, hope you follow up my story :)
