Biocode - Poor time management.

Posted by JDShu on 2011/09/18 00:03

Well here it is, I did a little bit but nothing significant until Wednesday, when I had a long weekend free. Unfortunately I was the victim of an attempted robbery on Wednesday and the subsequent things I had to deal with took up my Thursday and I spent Friday recovering. In any case, with some coffee I managed to make something semi playable, although much less complete than I had hoped.

There are way more things I wanted to do, just as progressing difficulty levels and limiting the creatures the player can spawn as it is currently too easy. Better graphics and a menu would have been nice too. All in all, a nice experience, although the rush at the end made my code quality really fall. So now it's pretty ugly. If I decide to spend more time on this, there are definitely a lot of things I can do.

Automata - Whew...

Posted by hidas on 2011/09/17 23:58

Somehow, I fixed a collision bug that I've been trying all week to fix in the last 3 minutes.
I just uploaded a second final submission.

Still no music. :'(

Mutagion - Mutagion - finished!

Posted by saluk on 2011/09/17 23:56

Yay! I managed to connect the dots. Started the day with some simulated elements, some interface, some resources, and some major bugs in the simulation. Ended the day with something that more or less feels 'gamey'.

My best score is pretty abysmal: 30%. Can you do better?

I apologize for no tutorial. The game is pretty simple, but I assume some of the interface may be a bit difficult to get used to.

I wish I had been able to work on the game a bit more during the week, I think I had a gem of a base for a game.

Outbreak - Fail

Posted by jking on 2011/09/17 23:54

Well turns out I couldn't get it done in time.

I started this entry a couple days late and haven't put enough time in.

Also doesn't help that I'm not familiar with the GUI library (pgu.gui) that I rolled with.. made things a little tougher as I had to spend time scouring the limited documentation and reading through source code to figure things out. However, it's a good project and I managed to get a pretty clean design in the UI of my game so far.

I even got a little bit of the game engine itself done, but alas... nothing complete.

Maybe next year I'll plan ahead a little more.

Mutate Lab Puzzle Project - More levels

Posted by Lasty on 2011/09/17 23:41

Added a couple more levels to the mix.
If I had more time I would have done more Shape mutations (I was planning on having a Sphere and a Triangle/Pyramid/Wedge thing)

I also included pyglet in the source tree, hence the size bump.

Lab Lab Bunny Lab - Monkey trees and a release candidate

Posted by cyhawk on 2011/09/17 23:34

Ever wanted to cross-breed monkeys and trees?

My wife is still recording the music so if you are in no rush to try this, it may be best to hold out for version 1.0.
