Basic game code created.
Nothing too much, just fall physics and basic movement mechanics.
Meanwhile, TheKing has been creating a menu screen.

I also completed the first music track of the game, which I must say, does slap sufficiently.

In the first stretch of "Tube" week, I wrote my initial game design doc and laid down the basic physics simulation that will power the game loop. My level environment with PBR IBL rendering is also mostly complete. I'm now focusing on possible UI elements and level structure implementations.

Yesterday I was too hungover and tired to work. Birthday parties are fun but I realise I lack the stamina I had a decade ago.
Today is about inheriting a framework I've never used and trying some things out. I'm thinking the word 'tube' reminds me of the Underground. I might make a little pixel art city sim were you annoy nimbies by building building tube lines under them.

Day 1 got off to a great start.
We came up with a cool idea and started throwing together some prototyping and bits of code.
Artwork is already being worked on and all in all the coding is going great!!
:)

Hello world!
At the time of writing this I am halfway through day 2, hence the weird day "1.5" in the title. I sort of forgot that PyWeek lets you create diary entries š
.
Anyways, majority of the first day was spent in vain brainstorming with ChatGPT in hopes of a Eureka! moment for a game idea. I did indeed have such a moment when a certain billionaire building certain tunnels in Las Vegas came to mind ;)
For the remainder of the day 1, I messed around with basic text rendering and implemented some basic 2D car physics. I also made infinite roads just this morning (day 2). I will not completely state my game idea since I'm still a little shy about it, but I'm sure some of you reading this can deduce which direction I'm headed.

Well I wonāt say my team had the best start but weāre doing good.
I decided to form a team of 6 and one suggested using the pyxel retro library a few weeks prior to the challenge, we brainstormed and already voted for the game weāre doing once the challenge starts.
Unfortunately we didnāt like the idea we voted for when the idea was āTubeā and I had real life things on a Sunday so while we decided to spend day 1 working on another better game idea and we made some nice starter progress.
Hopefully more work done tommorow.
