February 2016 challenge: “The aftermath”

The Uninterrupted Kea Experience - Meanwhile, the code...

Posted by green0range on 2016/02/28 03:33

So, while deimos impact has been filling my ears with wonderful sounds, I have made some looking art by not deleting previous blits.
Don't fear, it is now fixed. We have a basic platformer engine coming along just nicely. The jumping looks amazing, and the monochrome colours are just wonderful! Also, keas look like squares, coz why not!?

While green-orange has been working on the code, I have been writing the music. It is now pretty much complete, so I will move onto the art.

The Amazing Adventures of Herbert the Flying Monkey - And So It Begins ...

Posted by JFrog on 2016/02/28 00:13

So, the aftermath. This immediately sounds like a war has just happened, which could have some interesting side effects. Flying monkeys, for example.
I have created a Github repo for this here for anyone who wants to follow along as the game is created.

Will give Spyral another spin! Consider doing the same! http://platipy.org/en/latest/ Would be awesome if more people used it and improved it! Hopefully we can distribute games to OLPC XO laptops. We can reach almost 1M children. Make it worth it!

The Amazing Adventures of Herbert the Flying Monkey - Imprrrovements

Due to the major graphics fail of last time, I have decided to make a text based adventure this time. The graphics may or may not still fail.

A game by Gato - A little library

Posted by Gato on 2016/01/29 14:46

Tidying up a bit what I did for the previous competition, I made a library to help ease the pain of using OpenGL. It's still in very alpha state, but it already does something. I won't make any more changes to it before the competition begins. You can find it here: https://github.com/Gato-X/sPyGlass PS. Please let me know if you find it useful! ;)
