PyWeek - Chicken Coup - feedback
no sound nor music? Nice drawings and parallax effect, also day/night.
I got through the game using just one spell (the one that was easiest to type: pipipi)
The typing spell game is a lot of fun. It's hard to do it at the same time as jumping over fireballs.
I love all the art, particularly the parallax background.
The spells seem a bit unbalanced - PIPIPI is very easy to type and effective; KUKAREKU is much harder to type and also has no range.
Wow, great graphics. I didn't have time to play all the way through the story mode, but plays great, looks fantastic.
I've liked the idea of having to type the command on the keyboard.
I had to have a look into the code to know the spells: was there written anywhere else, or were we supposed to try randomly (in which case it's a bit unfair for non native speakers)?
The theme could have been better exploited: the idea of time flow is nice, but all in all seems a bit useless to the gameplay.
The visuals are really impressive, shame there are no sounds or music. The window is reasonable size but the ability to resize it would also be welcome. Boss fight - kind of hard compared to the rest. I'm not a big fan of running strange bat files, I understand why this was added, but.. nah, I'll just run the .py, thankyouverymuch.
Too hard to play. Looks like im too old for this. Or my keyboard is not so convinient. I let other players to decide score for the game.
Loved this. Could be improved by sound perhaps!?!?! :-)
I got egg to the demon realm! I don’t know why he wanted to go there, but I’m glad we did :) This was pretty fun. The game art was really great: nice use of colours and lots of cool in-game and menu art: really liked that. The game play got a little bit repetitive. I did like how you had to type spells, but it took me a while to figure out that I could do that I should have read the instructions first). The game really could have done with some audio, even just some appropriate choices of open-licenced stuff, could have made a big difference.
I like it!
love the art style. would have loved some sound effects / music
I loved this. Cute graphics, weird gameplay and amazing chickens. Some of the spells are a bit OP but that might be for the better. Death would be even more punishing otherwise. I loved the spell system and I think more games should use it.
Enemies get stuck when the boss appears (the looked like an error until the author told me otherwise). Some spell effects aren't obvious.
I got another bug on death where I didn't really die?
Could be made into something very interesting.
Interesting concept, though the typing got a bit tedious at some point, so it feels a bit more like a gimmick than an innovative new scheme scheme. I liked the art style; it felt cohesive.
Sound for this game would be huuge bonus. Great work ;)
nice graphics and visualizations (e.g. level progress), solid gameplay
Pretty fun and nice drawings too!
Decent game play. Fun mechanic to casting spells. Good story.
Great graphics! It's a shame that there are no sounds though. I like the concept, but the time mechanics were a bit of a mystery to me and I didn't understand how to use them. Also, healing didn't seem to work for me. I wish there were more of an explanation. Overall a fun game, even though it was mostly typing cheekpeep. :)
