Hi all,

Today has been a slow enough day regarding work, been mostly designing the game which now has the name, Trevor. The basic premise is that the player Steve (not my name just the first name I thought of), is tasked with taking down his evil twin Trevor, the namesake of the game, kind of like how Zelda is not the player character. So Steve, armed with his bulging biceps, must turn his surroundings into weapons to defeat Trevor and save the kingdom or more likely stop Trevor from hogging the WiFi.

The main aspect of the game will be turning raw materials into tools and weapons to keep yourself safe and alive. There will be various entities roaming the map like cows, insects, skeletons, etc. I would like there to be a day/night cycle to decided what enemies appear when. The game will have light survival elements, with hunger and thirst only affecting how quickly health recuperates.

Decided on using Arcade for the coding. I am also using Aseprite to create my pixel art and will then use Tiled to create the map that the game will take place in as I don't fancy my abilities with procedural generation.

Honestly, I do not yet have good ideas to fit the theme. At least no good ones which would also match to my skill level :-)

....there's more like a brain breeze as a brain storm, currently.

This Day was is going miserably bad, all i have done is making a back screen and a square,

Still haven't decided what i want to make,

I am just doing the basic coding for the tiles and player movement

Midday Shootout - Day 1

By now, I have decided on the genre of my game (a top-down shooter) and I made a working prototype to test my ability to implement those game mechanics. I had moderate success but there is still a lot more to do. Right now, I am trying to figure out the best layout of the battlefield and also how to implement things like health. I am also having some difficulty in figuring out how to organize my game logic using classes. Another thing to note is that I found a good name for the game, which I think I'll use. I still haven't completely settled on it.

Blitzkrieg - Game Name origin

As the theme is "My evil twin", the plot i thought for my game is where two twin brothers get their Dad's kingdoms in half, but the evil twin brother throws you outside where you are just left with a city. So by some military tactics and warfare you have to take the kingdom back. Basically this game is military strategy game and the literal meaning of "Blitzkrieg" is "a violent surprise offensive by massed air forces and mechanized ground forces in close coordination".

Two Day Escapade - Day #1

So far, we have the basic story completed, well... a bit of it 🀣

Now it's to determine what kind of gameplay we want, art style etc etc... The aim is to have this all done b4 this evening hopefully.


This is really going to push time management skills πŸ˜… and it's so hard to not overcommit.
