OK, finally, MY OWN GAME is done. Genernally, I am satisfied with it, however, I am sorry for that I did not find proper background music and sound effect, and also , I give up many beginning thought. No worry, there is still pyweek 23 in the front. In order to decrease the difficulty, I delete half of enemies, I also add a cheat code on intro, you can enter ↑↑↓↓←→←→BA to get 30 lives. All I do is hope you can enjoy it, and also any suggestions are welcomed ^ v ^

The game is going well. The cable model is limping along meaning I have to keep waiting for it to spring into life to go and download some sounds for the game!
I spent today on the ancillary screens and adding music so most of those are done. That leaves the final push tomorrow for a few more levels and some polishing of the earlier levels that I completed.
There's still more to do than hours and energy left but let's see where I get to.
Good luck to everyone down the final stretch!

I bit off a project much too large for the week of this challenge. As a result, it doesn't feel much like a game and has a lot of issues. I won't be able to get it up to my standards by tomorrow so I'm going to just call the DNF now.
A lesson learned here was to not try to reinvent the wheel at every turn in a large project you want to finish in a week. If I decide to give this idea another shot in the future, I'll make sure I have libraries written ahead of time that can handle the AI and pathfinding.

So I'm going to be spending the best part of tomorrow at a beer festival and thought it best if I really crack on with this to get it done. I rather think that it's finally complete.
We've got stages, splash-screens, music, sound effects. I've tweaked the graphics to try and keep a steady 30 fps, so I dropped making the water and ferry ebb as in game you really couldn't see it moving whilst focusing on the trucks. I also kind of realised the game doesn't lend itself to the opinion I wanted to present with the theme, but I've tried to show the humanity of the people. I think it's the only game where you're not going to be proud of yourself for winning it!
Anyway, have a play and let me know what you think.
DNF - Oh crap

Not going well, as always time runs away. Have only been able to put in 1-2 hours almost every evening between work and taking care of my little daughter.
Hopefully I can get some more hours in this weekend and maybe have something playable!

Got some more levels built today but I hit a bit of a speed bump as I seem to have lost all web access at home. Looks like the cable modem might have died! That's going to be a distraction but hopefully I can get it fixed tomorrow ...
Jungle Run - It's just a stage it's going through

Made some serious progress today with lots of game testing to try and get the right balance of the variables that create the difficulty. The game's now got stages that get progressively more difficult and it'll tell you all the information you need to know while playing. I've included a couple of touches to make the game more visually appealing so the sea and ferry move a little and the scanners draw lines to their current targets so you know what's scanning what. I'll add more touches if time permits.
Tomorrow's main jobs are to add sound and splash screens before packaging it up ready for submission. I need to let the player know when they've caught or missed an immigrant, which I'll probably use sound to do. I'm also thinking to add a top score feature to encourage efficient spending and make the game appealing to play multiple times.
