Alembic Flipper - Uploaded something, at least

Posted by valhalla on 2011/04/09 16:37

Real life intervened and prevented me from doing lots of small improvements, expecially in the graphics area, but at least I have uploaded something that works and I've reached my main target for this pyweek.

Next pyweek I will try to aim a little higher, hopefully I will write something better than this time.

My personal out-of-pyweek target, packaging for the openpandora gaming console will come later next week, since the distpnd package isn't working as it should. Anyway, the game runs as it is (it has been one of my main developement machines :) ).

tblob - Game finished, working on packaging.

Posted by hidas on 2011/04/09 16:35

*Phew* The game is at a stage of playability, and all bugs I can find have been fixed. I'm about to code freeze it once I get the sound error-checking in effect. Then there's testing and packaging to be done. The game still doesn't have a boss, but oh well. At least I finished something.

On we go.

Worst Case - Finally assembling game mechanics and balancing ist within grasp

Posted by KernelInfernal on 2011/04/09 15:43

After coding quite some framework code, I did another controversial brainstorming with macrobe yielding a solid outcome. I wanted to kill my teammate one or two times during the week, but at least we always had a good vision as a result.

Forever End - And it's submitted!

Posted by ChipX86 on 2011/04/09 14:17

7:15 AM, and I'm still awake. Been working on bug fixes, polish, some tweaks, some new effects. At some point I accidentally made an earthquake effect. It works well. I don't remember doing it, but I'm rather tired so who can tell.

Anyway, it's submitted! I hope people enjoy it. There's definitely a lot more I would love to do (such as fine-tune the graphics in level 1 and 3, which I didn't have time for, and add sound). However, considering it's a solo project and I spent a week on it, and have never written anything more than a super basic puzzle game before, I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

Please give it a try, and do not hesitate to let me know of areas I can improve (things I did well would be nice to hear too!). There's a lot of puzzle elements involving time travel I would have loved to spend more time on, but couldn't get to, so I plan to continue this game and turn it into something a bit more in-depth.

citySquare - citySquare: Days[-1]

Posted by Hugoagogo on 2011/04/09 12:43

Well times running out and Pyweek is running to a close

I have made great progress in the past few days and implemented tons of stuff like proper scoring menu, and crushed many other subtle and rare bugs that seemed to wander through my code.

I am quite happy with the game i have come up with, even though it is a relatively simple game.

Tomorrow morning i will have a few hours to add in a scoreboard but then after the competition i will have more time to update and optimize some stuff as well as writing up a longer entry.

Before i crash i do have a screen-shot of my fancy new menus though

Interesting Times - Interesting Times - Release!

Posted by gcewing on 2011/04/09 12:38

Made the first, and possibly last, release.

The basic mechanics of the game are there, and I've managed to make it look not entirely ugly, but not as nice as I'd like.

Somewhat worse is that it's missing a couple of features that are kind of necessary to make it winnable, and I'm not going to get time to tune anything. So in its present state it's probably impossible to finish.

Going to sleep now.

Loopback - A Grand Milestone

Today, with 13 hours to go, we finally got our first sprite into the game. Its been an arduous battle but this glorious piece of artwork will truly make our game shine! I shall show you it here:

Look at that! Isn't it magnificent?

...

In retrospect its just a white square...

Okay, time to add colours!
