Not sure to have understand if there really is gameplay.
Interesting concept and great graphics, but I got frustrated with the controls. I can't control the main butterfly very well -- sometimes it stops or accelerates without me understanding why -- and leaving the screen is a bit frustrating. Level two was easier with the ability to sing, which maybe should have been there from the start. It really seems like there are some interesting mechanics like landing and eating, but unfortunately the controls got too much in the way for me to appreciate them. I wish they were smoother because this game might have been really interesting with better controls. I do appreciate the ability to change levels via command line so I can see the whole game, and I like the title. :)
The audio and the controls weren't really working properly for me. I don't know whether this is a bug or whether this was just how the game was coded. Assuming the former, and given that I couldn't really get to enjoy the game, I didn't want you to get a bad rating because of that, so I marked it DNW. Shame, because it looked cool.
nice gfx, but no sound.
Steering was a bit weird... on the second level the swarm flew out of the window and never came back after sleep. So I got stuck in this level and eventually dies due to the night.
Couldn't get it to work. I think my python version is to blame. Would love to give it a try.
Window does not fit on screen
The idea is not a bad one.As the author notes, the controls were quite frustrating for me.
Definitely some cool ideas here! I've seen the "boids" flocking simulator before but never incorporated into a game. That's neat! Of course more gameplay would have been great, but I like how you took the time to introduce the different mechanics.
Cool Game! Was pretty difficult to play, as I wasn't sure how to get the butterflies to fly towards me. Graphics were slick and blended well with each other, good eye! Would've loved to have seen some music and sound effects. Overall a nicely polished game. Great job!
I really liked the herding mechanic, it is very nice idea to be a mommy butterfly. The controls felt a bit stiff because you can't slow down unless you're turning. It was also difficult to see where everything was with the text-box below and the fact they could move out of the screen. Combined with the sleep and hunger mechanics, the fact you need to do it in a hurry, proved to be a bit frustrating. A shame because I really liked the idea of the sleeping and eating mechanics. The game sure had a magical atmosphere. It was pretty cute.
