2D dungeon crawler inside a tower?

I decided to try and go a little ambitious on this run and make a game inspired by "Tower of Daruga" I got the base foundations of the game and i got all the stuff I want in my game written down so far. Will start providing screenshots soon as the week progresses and provide more details to what this game will shape up to be.

NOTE: Due to the time constraints between work and pyweek, this is going to be really difficult to pull off. If I find that near the end of the challenge there's still a lot I have to do I may have to either submit it regardless if its unfinished or quit.

Technical Hiccups. Title decided.

I think I'm going to call the game I'm making "The Emerald Tower"

Had some technical hiccups today regarding player to wall collision It chewed up most of my day but that has now been resolved.

List of things to work on next:

- Camera to track player

- Keys and locked doors

- Making 19 more levels on top of the one I currently have as a testing grounds(might reduce the amount of levels depending on time I have left)

- Adding stats to player(like Life, Damage, Defense, ect)

- Implementing enemies

More stuff on the way to share.

Long Overdue Diary Entry

So I've been working tirelessly on player/wall collisions implementing keys and locked doors associated with keys and implementing how a player proceeds to the next level. There's still a lot of things that I still need to implement before I finish the project. At this point an "All nighter" or two is warranted to finish the project.

List of things i still need to implement.

Enemies

Sound/music

an actual player sprite(blue stick figure? REALLY?!)

basic combat mechanics.

art for title screen

instruction's and story

Game Over screen

and probably a few other things I may have missed.

So yeah I have a lot on my plate. And I cant waste any time doing it. If all else fails I could try and release it as is despite having unfinished content and once Pyweek finishes I'll work on the little details afterwards. I'm actually liking this current project.

EDIT: I've lost count on how many hours I've spent on this project :P

Final Diary Entry: Calling DNF on this one

Work has really interfered with my pyweek project this week and was going to pull an all nighter, but concerns of having health issues related to caffeine overdose made me think otherwise. With only such little time left, I still had to get the following done for "The Emerald Tower": Enemies, Leveling your character, More artwork, Sound and music, credits, game over screen, combat mechanics....I could keep going with the list but just from these alone, and the amount of time I have left before my next shift, these factors made it IMPOSSIBLE for me to finish on time. I'm forced to throw a DNF on this one. I just needed at least 1-2 more weeks to be able to release something that is at least remotely enjoyable.

I'll be able to finish and release the game at a later time on Itch.io so at least stick around for that. It wont be rated on pyweek, but I wont leave a project unfinished.

In the meantime I'll drop a link to my Itch.io page https://x-phantasma.itch.io/ check there from time to time. I'll release The Emerald Tower when its ready.

Best wishes to the rest of you on the final hours of Pyweek.
