Lots of asteroids! It's fun dodging the asteroids but it gets a bit repetitive. Some sounds/music would be nice.

no sound, otherwise well done

I actually really loved the simple controls for the bullet hell.

This was good fun! Dodging those asteroids is a challenge, and the sense of flying through space making a random path with all those rocks whizzing by is exciting. I saved 9 people. What a hero. :)

I like that you had a screen for the score and offered to restart the game.

The game was really missing sound and graphics effects, though. If you had even a minimal amount of those, plus a music soundtrack, that would have made it a more complete game.

This is my personal preference: I like to drive with the mouse, then I can move in more than 8-way directions; but keyboard was good enough for a game. I mention this only in case you want to try and experiment with it. It did not affect my scoring.

I don't think I was very good at this game as I only managed to get a highscore of 4 :) ... it was fun while it lasted. The asteroids seemed to be all bunched up in one part fo space? So it meant sometimes it was easy dodging and then suddenly there would be a cloud of asteroids that were basically unavoidable.

Fun little arcade game. Maybe a bit too hard

Interesting timed survival game.
Could put more work on polishing the game.

Congrats on finishing PyWeek. You get a bonus Innovation point from me for not doing something on a tropical island. Simple gameplay, though as such it didn't really hook me that much. Some more variation in the gameplay would have been nice, as well as some music and sound effects.

Unfortunately, the biggest problem was that the game was unplayably laggy despite playing on a high-end computer. This might be because the coins that were off-screen were still being drawn.

I got a score of 14! It's a fun little game to pass the time. Not overly exciting, but still a bit challenging to escape those asteroids while finding the safety capsules.

Graphically, I can see that you put an effort by even drawing the spaceship by hand and pencil, I assume, as a foundation on how it should look. That's cool I think.

The controls are fine and the idea with the shield is a neat idea.

I wonder whether there is a constant frame rate implemented in the game loop? When I looked at the code of "gamerunner.py" I found two lines related to FPS outcommented.

When there are many asteroids on the screen, the game might appear to be slowing a tiny bit.

Some sound effects would be great.

Well, it's at least playable and stable.

It only took me one try to figure out what I needed to do, which is a good thing in game design. Being more or less self explanatory makes a game much more enjoyable from the get go.

It could've done with a bit of sound effects imo.

I think this game is really cool, because it focused on ONE main mechanic and kept it through out the entire game.
A few suggestions:
-Make it so the game is also controllable with WASD(if you had enough time for that)
-Using music and sound effects would have REALLY upped the games quality, because it would just give you a tension you didnt really have in this version and also auditive feedback
-More visual feedback→Maybe make the space ship light up or something like this if you get hit by an asteroide
-Make the score and Time counters a bit more visually appealing (maybe like a small Clock image next to the timer)

To sum it all up:
You did a great job and finished something in time and if you want to, you can collect a bit more experience while trying to improve this game.
Cheers, Lars
