The beginnings of a fun game. Unfortunately, there's not much to rate other than a core mechanic.

I quite liked the simple look. With a bit more time, if it was me, I might keep the look, and create some more complex interaction with the characters - e.g. an ongoing story

Interesting game, good performance. Avaliable backtracking? For what? :)
On start the game prints `could not load music`, cause - Windows type of paths - `\` should be replaced by '/'. After fix music still doesn't play, now but without error. Music started to play after i converted .mp3 file to .ogg.

Parallax scrolling and jumping is very smooth. The NPCs' dialogue is funny.
But it is pretty unfinished graphically and as a game.

Despite the name, this game is actually not a platfromer at all - it is clearly a platformer. I appreciated the ending where I fell into an endless abyss. But it seemed like I hit terminal velocity, so that was good!
thank god for a game I can type python main.py and it works.

It was fun jumping around a lot as a little square: the platforming felt pretty nice actually: I have no idea what the objective of the game was supposed to be, or how this relates to tower, but I guess maybe it’s a bit unfinished.

even if you didn't have time, you did a good job at the game.
i am really bad at platformers and i kept falling down.
also the guns gave me surplus stress :00000000

Hi, Cody. glad you had time, after all, to wrap it up. This is a cute little platformer. You managed to make it a little fun with the jumping puzzles, dodging enemies, and chatting companions along the way. What could you have done if you had time? :) I found the controls a little too sensitive. I overshot a _lot_, though I managed to twitch my way through it. Some bling would have gone a long way: gfx, sfx, soundtracks; it always does. Vanilla platformers are ubiquitous, so you'd really benefit from something to distinguish the game. All that if you had more time! The week flies by, and it is great that you got something we can play. Thanks for your work. Hope you had fun with it, that's really what counts.

I wasn't quite sure what I was supposed to do. I liked how you had to use some skill to hop from platform to platform. But was I supposed to touch the black squares? Were they checkpoints? Also at one point I fell and kept falling infinitely (I think it was infinite at least - I didn't wait).

Good solid game except for the (mentioned in the README), bug with getting killed and the level not resetting. Cute "pew pew" sounds.

There are a few small bugs: The music won't load on Linux, as you used backslashes instead of slashes in the file path. There's a bit of odd behaviour where the levels will pop in and out when moving between them (why not make the entire game one 'level'). Also the text boxes are too small.
However, the game not bad to play, despite the odd physics. The NPCs are pretty funny, and the gun turrets present a reasonable challenge. The background clouds are also rather nice, and combined with the blocky levels they make for rather a nice aesthetic.

I like the controls for moving/jumping. Very challenging, but controllable enough to get over and on top of the blocks. Some of the dialogue made me laugh, unfortunately some of it is cut off, so I couldn't always read the entire sentence...
Maybe the turrets could be a little bit less precise at shooting :P

The game was entertaining, I'm sad it's a bit short (and that it ends with a crash FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: './data/levels/level8.txt' )... I could have played more.
It's not something very new (follows the line of a more or less standard platformer game), although I enjoy the dialogues and the writing, they gave a unique personality to the world.
The level design is quite good for the limited gameplay options, it;s the part of the production I liked best

The game launched OK, but the frame was very tall and went above and below the limits of my screen (14"). Also, it failed to load the music.
It responded well to the controls. I found the jumping quite hard from the start.
Maybe if there had been music, it would have been more fun to try again, but it quickly got too difficult to progress.
I really liked that there were things to talk to. Unfortunately, the dialogue went too far below the screen so I couldn't read it. Nice touch though.
