Interesting story, but I can't say I wasn't a bit confused, although I guess thats what happens when time travel is put into the mix, also, the character is a bit of a yapper, he talks so much that there's not much actual gameplay. But the atmosphere is very nice, overall a very unique game.

nice game, too easy with the autoaim (just had to spam p to win).

At the end there is some logic error:

...\the-current-of-time-ときのながれ-tokinonagare\TokinonagareFinal> py -3.12 .\run_game.py
pygame-ce 2.5.3 (SDL 2.30.12, Python 3.12.6)

pygame.quit is called within the event loop witch makes it to crash!

The story is ambitious and everything happened very quickly, but I did like that there is a complete story here. The combat is a simple and would benefit from limits on the amount of fireballs, damage indicators, sound, and hit effects for the enemies and player character. Combat always needs lots of effects to make it enjoyable.

The gameplay is pretty much spamming a button, but I did enjoy the story! Nice work!

It looks like you put alot of effort into the characters and story and the cutscenes and dialogue, which added to the mystery of the game. I found that I could pretty much just spam P to fireball away all those pesky monsters. Cool game!

The game started. I sat through LOTS of exposition / cut screens which didn't make that much sense to me. Then the game started and this happened:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/home/ntoll/src/scratch/pyweek39/the-current-of-time-ときのながれ-tokinonagare/run_game.py", line 542, in <module>
screen.blit(black_sprite)
TypeError: function missing required argument 'dest' (pos 2)

:-(

This is an intriguing game which could do with LESS cut scenes and more play testing perhaps. Huge congratulations on getting your entry done... but perhaps check/test before uploading the final version? Thank you and best of luck next time.

Cool artwork and music! A lot of nice little touches. Interesting story, although I had a bit of trouble keeping all the characters straight. The gameplay was a bit on the easy side, especially when using the projectiles. It felt like jumping never really helped. I like that there are multiple endings.

Not my cup of tea, sorry.

Very nice little retro game. I liked the eerie mood of it, and the minimal music theme across the game worked very well.

I have three nits. The intro takes a while before you get to play. I wish the characters animated when they walk. And it's curious the E and P keys are so far apart, would be good to have them closer under the hand.

But all in all, a good working game. Good job!

nice game, it'd be nice to be able to jump to end of the dialogue when pressing space to speed things up. the game also crashes at the "where did it all go wrong" line.

the concept and the storyline until that point was pretty fun, maybe ill try to play again soon. great job :)

Laughed several times during the dialogue. I am a big fan of dream stories like Jung's red book and many others so I liked the concept of the game a lot. Good job!

The beginning atmosphere was very mysterious but then the beginning dialogue was too long and unskippable. Then at the line where it shows the controls, before I had time to read, the fight started. Eventually I kind of figured out the gameplay after a few times. I like the effort put into the artwork and story building.
