What I've Been Up To: Multiple Projects

I've been working on a few projects since I last posted. I've worked on Foxen here and there, and have also been picking at a dungeon crawler RPG.

I'm taking time off from both to work on a warmup for Pyweek.
My concept is similar to the one I had for my first warmup game: It's a scrolling shooter with procedural levels. This time, I've got a better, more flexible plan and have been making real progress.

Anyone who'd like to keep an eye on it can find it here on pygame.org.

I thought Foxen was your warmup for Pyweek. Did you finish it? Whatever happen to that "pick something and finish it" attitude you had a couple weeks ago?

I see what you've saying, Martin. It's got me thinking about what I'm doing, and I think that you're right about my needing to learn to finish things.

I'm thinking, then, that I'll try to come up with an idea that will take a while, and set myself to it. My problem isn't speed so much as commitment, and I think it took someone pointing that out for me to fully realize it.
I'm still working on Foxen. I'm reworking parts of the design for it, though.

Also, having more than one project (Meaning one main project and a few on the side) has actually helped me to commit to an idea, as it gives me something to do when I need a break from my main project.

"Pick something and finish it" seems to lead me into getting sick of a project eventually, where having other things to work on keeps the major project reasonably fresh.
