The Teetering Towers of San Gimignano

Tuscany, 1256. The Ardinghelli and Salvucci families have been engaged in a medieval arms race to build the most imposing towers, regardless of their structural instability. You're an assassin or chimney sweep or something. For whatever reason you find yourself atop these towers, and you have to learn to use their sways to your advantage.

or an assassin chimney sweep?

Sound good!
Oh, and if anyone tries it and runs it in a terminal, I'm curious what you get for "maximum displacement". Setting the difficulty too high is a common problem for me.

My record is 29.62. I'm figuring if you have to get it to 25, that won't be too hard for most people.
Dammit! Tarbomb!
Oh my bad. I guess my extractor automatically creates a directory if it needs to. I must have assumed that the archive creator automatically made the directory instead. I fixed it now.
I got a maximum displacement of 24.78 on windows. I wonder how much depends on the machine and how much depends on the gamer.  Is there a way you could benchmark the speed to equalize play on different systems? Using Ubuntu I had lots of trouble with the mouse motion.  I tried slowing down the effect of the mouse in the lines:
                phi -= mx * 0.006
                theta = min(max(0.05, theta - my * 0.006), 1.7)
but I only had partial success.  The problem may have something to do with Ubuntu running inside VirtualBox, but you may want to consider instructions or game controls to reduce the mouse motion sensitivity.
I will try again on Linux when I finish updating my other machine.  Going from Hardy Heron to Karmic Koala takes four separate updates each requiring about an hour and a half.
