This is a pretty good implementation of a DDR-type game, but I would have liked to see something more on top of it. I particularly appreciate how the moves make sense given that they are automatically generated.

>100MB of songs? Could this be done using *.ogg format?
Not sure how the 'moves' related to the song actually (not so clear). Otherwise it worked ok.

Wilson!!! XD

This was a fun game. I was looking forward to it as I read the description, even though I suck at this kind. I think the difficulty ultimately kept me from really having fun with it. Medium was way to hard for me; I played enough of it to be able to appreciate the beat detection. Easy mode spread the beat detection out so far that I couldn't match the on-screen beat to the music. Most critically, the key choices defeated me, as Up and Down are so easy to confuse when you're under game pressure. I would have been more comfy with home row keys, or allowing the user some choice in-game.

Even though this genre has been done over and over, I hadn't seen it in Python. So I give ya props for trying it. I researched real-time audio processing a couple years ago and gave up, myself. So: way to go! Two thumbs up. :)

Production is about average, maybe a little lacking, over all. But I did see some detail in the animations, and the song and difficulty menus were comely and convenient. I understand it's Pyweek, and usually this is where we have to sacrifice.

Thanks for a nice, complete game. See you next time? I hope so.

I loved the dancing around a fire pit on the island theme ;))) + nice music
The indicators of hitting a right note is not very "visually rewarding" for the player, you should probably try improving on that.

Music included appears to be copyrighted with no license information. Given that it says you can include your own music and it'd use beat detection logic to make it work, I'm unsure why not just ship some CC-A music. There was also a bug where the game started prior to the music starting for a few seconds, making the beat not line up with the visuals.

This was a really cool idea: I even tried it for one of my own tracks and it worked well ... sometimes it generates a bit of a funny beat or pattern for different parts of the song, and it would be cool if it could somehow do some more analysis to understand where the drum pattern in the song is so it can vary the number of hits per beat based on the flow of the song, but I guess that's probably a bit much for 7 days :) ... cool work!

Great idea with the beat detection.

rhythm game, on the default difficulty I couldn't really feel any connection between the button pressing and the musical cue's.

Overall I think the idea is good

Really cool concept, very polished (with transitions from one screen to another)
What I would improve:
Sometimes the game continues for quite a while, even after the song is completed but this doesn't make it less fun.
Cool Game

While definitely interesting from a technical standpoint, it isn't that much fun to play. Dave could've use some more dance moves ;)

Nice game but the beat positions feel sometimes a bit off and for example for the first song, there even are beats to hit when the music already was finished.
