I like the art and sound and the way you implemented the theme. Game lacks in gameplay thought.

Like the game. Really like the sound effects. Not sure about the blocky graphics, but very retro. Really impressed that you wrote this despite being new to Python. I hope you'll use Python again in the future! Many thanks!

Pretty good on the whole. The only serious fault I can find is that the pixellated graphics in the main game are rather indistinct and contrast jarringly with the highly detailed inventory and character views.

The contrast between lo-res gameplay and hi-res inventory screens is jarring.

Quite cool but some sort of story to explain what you're trying to do or at least where you're trying to go. I never know which corridor to take etc. or whether there's a goal.

A brilliant effort! It'd be nice to have some mechanism for recovering health.

Nicely produced. Tons of content for a Pyweek entry! I'm rather stunned to discover this is a solo entry. :)

I enjoyed this a lot, although I haven't beaten the boss yet.

4 4 2

Not very innovative, but quite some content you generated there.

I do not like a lot his kind of games, so I hadn't much fun and I didn't play it a lot. But it looks well.

Really fun.

love the art style, production values. not so much on the innovation side though.

A fun little mini-Diablo! The large pixels in the game are a bit at contrast with the smaller
pixels on the character and inventory sheets but it's not distracting. Actually the graphics
are pretty good, I loved that putting on a plate mail was visible in-game! Running through a
dungeon and killing everything is not a close connection to the theme though.

awesome game.

A fun game. Managed to keep me entertained from beginning to end, with only a few small annoyances.

Rather than returning to the start of the previous level on death, could we return to the end of the previous level? Running through an empty maze to get back to the interesting part of the game got old quickly.

Inventory management could use some improvement. Dragging all my rags and daggers across the screen was a bit painful.

It would be nice to be able to hit a key (esc, perhaps?) and make the character sheet and inventory go away.

All in all, a fantastic PyWeek effort.

I definitely agree, 10 minutes is more appropriate for this level of gameplay than 30. I gave up after about 15 minutes. It's way too monotonous. I actually like the idea of starting out back in jail every time you die, but other than that, there was nothing at all to make this game stand out. Even the menus were a little buggy. Sometimes my clicks wouldn't register.

The joke about not wanting to come up with story details can be funny, but don't overdo it. Then it just seems lazy.

You did a great job on this one. It felt like a fun, energetic rogue-like, without being a grueling grind. Sound effects contributed a lot.

One of my favorites. Love the hero voice. The final boss was to hard for me, but it was still fun.

I like the appearance of the game, but the gameplay should really be more than "walk up to enemies and hold space".

4 4 4

Didn't get to the end, but the music was quite addictive, and the game amusing. It's a little
painful to empty the inventory area of inferior items one at a time.

Pretty nice game, I like the style, but RPG isn't really my favourite... But still, it was ok...

Enjoyed playing this one. Simple sharp pixel graphics. Tried and True dungeon hacking.
