PyWeek - The Infinite Tower - feedback

Most of the minigames were fun once I got the hang of them. My favorite was definitely the one with the mouse. It did take me a while to figure out exactly how they all worked, though. I like the upgrade system and the progression of difficulty. I played through floor 10, at which point it was starting to feel a little repetitive. But I enjoyed it!

The game started off well but once the first battle started, the screen froze and I had to force quit the application and it would still take a while to go away.

This is the error message I got:

The retro graphics and sound were dynamic and cohesive.

While I quite enjoyed the flow of entering a battle, playing and winning, I didn't really enjoy any of the minigames I played, and they quickly got repetitive. Also the ASD game is very easy; the clicking one is extremely hard especially on a laptop touchpad.

This was a pretty cool game: I didn’t think the concept was ground breaking, but the implementation was very good: the game was very well polished in terms of production. Some of the minigames were good (key press and clicks), but some others were a bit confusing, even after reading the instructions. I liked the wall of fire in the intro to each battle.

The visuals are cool, but button mashing isn't fun (and hurts!)

The squares flying by effect is cool but it has noticeable slowdown on my (pretty powerful) machine.

The minigames, uh... seem clever. I only got to play two of them, but both ultimately just boiled down to "mash the button," which isn't fun, and that's all there is in the game.

I was just about to fight a monster and got an "Abort Trap 6" error, and that happened twice

The best part was "YOU...VS...GOO". :D That gave me a chuckle. Thanks.
Pros: I found the concept of different battle styles fresh. I like how you did the battle transition screen. The help screens are nice; not everybody puts in an effort to make them.
Cons: It didn't really pull me in. I can blame my taste in game types. In the end it just needed something more. Maybe...less randomness (I got an overwhelming number of BLOCK moves, with no way to win); and maybe offer a noob item earlier in the shop that would make a difference in the beginning. Also, I was missing anims and interactions and gfx during combat. I've never been a fan of the FF style combat, so don't let my critique bother you. Rather let it encourage you in the areas that you may need to focus to interest an old battle axe like me. :) The best part IMO: you had fun, and you finished something playable! Thanks for making this game, and congrats on your entry. I'm glad I got to play it. Hope to see you next time.

I loved the transition animation, it looks heavily layered. The game itself carried out a simple game mechanic, and the concept of tower is implemented as well. Eventually I started smashing all three keys. Nice work!

Not sure I'm much good at all those minigames. :-/

Other than the annoying high beep in the initial menu, I liked the pixel art style and the 8-bit like music/SFX. I found the mini games rather complicated and on the one where you have to click on the white/red boxes you have contradictory text vs illustration, so when that mini game came up, I had difficulties finding out what I actually had to do.

All in all it feels as complete as a game made in a week can feel.

I like the transitions (that bitcrushed sound at the beginning reminds me of Bomberman)!
Also the enemies were cute and I could see it building into something really quite addictive.

Unfortunately the button-mashing defeated me and I couldn't seem to progress very far.

I could get to the menu+instractions, but when starting and clicking on a monster I get the following error:
