I liked the graphics and the music. The crafting tree was rather extensive, but the game seemed to have no purpose other than just follow the instructions. There did not appear to be a mechanic that required any skill or problem-solving. Also, the controls were really clunky and it felt like I was trying to pat my head and rub my belly with needing to switch between WASD, arrow keys, and the mouse. The raft control was also odd.

The game is too straitforward. The goals looks like a tutorial that ends when the game ends.

This was a neat, relaxing game. While the experience was fun, I was following instructions the entire game and there was not really any challenge, so this ended up more as an exploration game. You have an excellent implementation of all the components of a crafting game and this is impressive in terms of production, but the game just doesn't give me freedom for me to do my own thing or challenges to solve. The graphics and the music are great by the way. Excellent work!

PS: I crafted 5 workbenches before realizing I had a backpack, and I had to restart the game because when I had to craft a pickaxe, I didn't have any stones left. This one is absolutely my fault though that I don't read instructions very carefully. :)

PS 2: I played through the game and I was expecting that I would extend the raft, and when that didn't happen, I went back and only then I realized you could do it. Turns out I didn't need it to win the game, and it would be cool if you actually needed to do it to win.

Fun: I really liked making progress, but I wasn't hungry even once :-)
Innovation: The game looks like a mix of Minecraft and Don't Starve Shipwrecked. I really enjoyed these games and this mix feels unique.
Production: I really like game design. It seems that every class island / player etc was well planned before writing the code in detail.

Wasn't able to pick up rocks, was stuck at stage and died multiple times there

This was a really cool game: I really liked all the attention to details like the tile animations, the waves in the background (they kind of remind me of a 2D Wind Waker). The begin game story was very clever, I like how you can communicate the game's premise with no words. Good choice of music to set the background mood. I loved the goat island.

- Music does not comply with PyWeek rules.
- The game has a number of bugs that make it a bit of a pain to play. For instance, you can misclick and lose your watermelon and are forced to restart. Also, if you complete a step, but open the map, it will tell you to do it even if it was already done (e.g. if you craft a furnace before you mine the iron ore).
- Controls feel kind of strange.
- The game itself is pretty nice, and has a lot of potential. Fixing the bugs could make it pretty fun.

A lot of cool elements used well. I thought it was great the way you could build and navigate the raft. I laughed when I realized you go through all that trouble to make a shovel. A little more challenge, maybe with resource planning, or discovering which island to visit, would have been welcome, but I still had fun figuring out what all the things did. Great polish! I really like the beginning and ending cut scenes and the player character. I would have given 5/5 for production but the control scheme felt really complicated. I imagine it would have been a lot easier to get the hang of if it used only WASD and the mouse, and there was a map button and a crafting button rather than keys.

The graphics were consistent and there were some fitting cut scenes. I had a suprising amount of fun building my raft. The game had a sense of progression with enough to do without feeling to linear.

Liked the idea and the style. The controls were a bit clunky and unintuitive but the experience was pleasant.

Good game, maybe a bit to easy especially as it told you everything that one had to do next and I haven't had to extend the boat at all.

Regarding the disqualifying, I'm not a lawyer but I expect you don't have a license or otherwise agreement to use the undertale goat here, do you?

I really do love this game.
I have been playing it for over an hour now and it is just so amazing.
First up, it is far more polished than you would expect from a game jam game, the mechanics are great, there is a story line and if you want to you can play the game for a long time (until you cant even complete the game because you raft is too big to fit through some holes)
A few things that could be improved:
When you hover with, for example the axe over a tile, the green outline also cuts off the plant
-make it so you can remove missplaced tiles (and if you can, make it a bit more easily understandable

Keep working on the game, as said, I think it is absolutely great!
Cheers, Lars

Great production value, basically fully functional with depth.

Although the Minecraft influence is clear, this is a very nice implementation of the idea. I love the idea of being able to steer your base. My biggest gripe is the user interface. The combination of keys for inventory management as well as movement, while I still need a mouse to place some stuff and steer the boat (and need to cycle through directions as well!) was very frustrating. For what looks like a sandbox game, the progression is also very linear. All that said, this is some very nice production for an individual entry made in a week!

Good artists copy, great artists steal!

I like the idea of a 2d raft rogue like-ish, I love the sounds and the animations and the little wave transition effect.

I found the steering mechanic a little counter intuitive. It wasn't until quite late that I realised I could bump into an island and safely disembark without weighing anchor.

The controls felt a bit like they got re-designed for each system that was added (moving, crafting, building, inventory management) which got a bit frustrating

All up I was engaged enough to play through all the goals and win the game, but not enough to start again and go visit easter egg island (though I saw it on my way through the normal content)
