This is a very decent game, well done and I enjoyed it. I managed to get to wave 4. I liked the music and the gameplay.
But to stop building, I somehow had to press W, because in description you said to press "S" again to stop building the rift. Maybe it was a typo?

- stopped at wave 8
- very fun
- It is not clear that you lose after first seagull

This was all that I could think about while playing your game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9t-slLl30E. :) Joking aside, this was pretty fun. I particularly like the drawing of the character, there's a charm to the whole game put together.

small nice game. Quite repetitive, first could not shoot birds.

Fun for the first two levels. Then it kinda ran out. I would have liked more health than just being able to withstand one peck to the head. :) Very nice music selection. Missing sound effects, but maybe you decided they would interfere with the music? I think some graphics effects and variety in gameplay would have boosted this entry a lot. Overall this is a cute game and a decent accomplishment for a Pyweek. Nice job.

A very direct take on castaway where you are building a raft from an island.
The controls felt a little weird, you could try adding more indications that the player is building the raft, and a projectile line for the coconuts.

Love the music and coconut physics.

Did some research and the error appears to be a bug with the arcade library itself on ubuntu
SoLoud dynamic link library /home/*****/venv/lib/python3.8/site-packages/arcade/soloud/libsoloud.so not found. /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.29' not found (required by /home/*****/venv/lib/python3.8/site-packages/arcade/soloud/libsoloud.so)
Warning, can't initialize soloud name 'soloud_dll' is not defined. Sound support will be limited.

The warning eventually results in crashes in the audio subsystem:

File "/home/*****/pyweek/30/la-isla-finita/La-Isla-Finita-1-0/entities.py", line 764, in on_update
position = self.music.get_stream_position()
File "/home/*****/venv/lib/python3.8/site-packages/arcade/sound.py", line 123, in get_stream_position
return _audiolib.get_stream_position(self.voice_handle)
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_stream_position'

I tried catch/fail silently, but more places started crashing for the same reason.

Quite enjoyable!

I did have to switch the mp3 sound track to a different format to get the game to run.

This was a simple but fun game. I really like the art in the game, especially all the animations, some really nice touches. The colours and music create a really nice atmosphere, very cool!

This game is fun, but it's too much unforgiving : it would be better with a life system. Also the aiming is difficult and too erratic, and much confrontations against a seagull lead to a certain death, which is too bad.

Simple but nice arcade like game though it was sometimes hard to hit the birds with the coconuts and throwing two at once made it even harder if a lot of them came from different directions. A small end scene would have been nice after finishing a wave.

The graphics have real charm, nice work!
