Game ran, but there was no way to actually play it. First area had a closed door and nothing to open it, or a pit with 2 skeletons with no way to climb out.

The plot was quite a twist, I liked it.

The fighting was not really fun. I guess you're supposed to run from the skeletons at the moment they attack, but this is too hard, their reach seems longer than yours. And getting stunned by a hit makes it very hard to get away in time. It would have been better to have a shield so that you could try to time dropping your shield to attack.

I couldn't work out how to climb the vertical walls. I guess wall jumping but the game physics refused to let me achieve this. It would be better if the jump key automatically kicked you away from the wall you're sliding down. In the end I climbed the walls by running up to them and pressing jump repeatedly, which lets the hero do a slow, jittery shimmy up the vertical wall.

Also, a classic bug: the game lets you jump and turn left/right while dead.

short, but nice game. I had to increase the live to be able to get to the end. I think its not fair to stun the hero when he gets hit and the skeletons don't (or recover much faster). Also it was a bit unfair that the heros sword was shorter than the ones of the enemies (except for RickV).

As you wrote, missing music or sound effects. But you did well on the mechanics: platformer with grappling. I'm not sure what I activated with the white boxes because I didn't see any difference (except for the shortcut).

The story seemed pretty unremarkable at first, but I love the ending! I wish there was more to the story. I managed to reach the boss but I had to cheat to beat him. I couldn't really figure out what I was supposed to be doing differently in the fight: the damage seemed unavoidable. Good use of sprites. I like that you can open paths to make subsequent play easier. I wish I could have climbed a bit more easily.

An interesting take on the theme, however there are a few issues. The combat mechanics are very difficult, I eventually won the final fight just by hammering space-bar. Jumping and climbing feels awkward - I had to go to a wall and then repeatedly press up to climb?

(Also - you haven't included any requirements - it makes it easier if you include the readme file in sources, and also include a requirements.txt file so it's easy to install requirements with pip).

This game is well made, you were right to warn everyone that it is very hard! You definitely need some music and sounds for getting hit or hitting an enemy. Also the hero doesn't respawn, not sure if that is meant or if I have to click something but you said that changes the hero makes will not go away.

This was a decent enough platformer: I liked the character animations. It took me a while to figure out that I could wall jump by mashing up/side arrow to get up to RickV. I had to comment out the music in the code (mp3 is not supported by default in pygame on OS other than Windows): you should consider using ogg for multi-platform compatibility.
