Spawnmower Lawn Defense

You are a pest control technician and you are chosen to save the worlds lawn from vermin attacks.

The game contains different towers, creeps, time dependent menus and can partially be controlled with gestures.

You can build the following towers:
FlyFlatTowerThe Fly flap is good to attack a group of insects with its splash damage. It cannot attack air units.
HoneyPotTowerThe HoneyPot Tower has less damage than all the other towers. It slows down the creeps for a while. In the lesser levels enemies gets a health point bonus when they are attacked by the HoneyPot.
ToadTowerThe Toad Tower is very effective against small insects. It can only attack one enemy at a time.
InsecticideTowerThe Insecticide Tower is effective against groups of enemies. It causes a poison damage over time, if an enemy was hit.
Every Tower is available in 3 Upgrade levels. If you like shortcuts, you should take a look into the README.txt. Have Fun and good luck to all pest control technicians!!!

Finally, ...

Today, we balanced the last waves of creeps.

Additionaly, we will present your weapons. Each of them has 3 upgrade levels:

Last day, and still....

we are not finished.

The coding is finished and we will go to bed now. Tomorrow a windows installer will follow.

Day 5

So what did we do yesterday? Next to some fixes it comes down to: - more graphics and thereby more and more enemies - Highscore are counted and saved and can be viewed - damage types are implemented for different enemies and weapons - we have a skirmish mode now! - we added a textbox to show what happens That's basicly it. Ready for day 6 ;-)

only 5 minutes more...

Today we implemented a lot of stuff:
  • resource animations
  • sounds
  • updates
  • day time depending game menu
  • some special game control that is not always working ;)

But the most impressive enhancement is our ENDLESSMODE. The goal is to survive as many waves as possible to get a better highscore than others.

Like every top 10 game, there is only a Windows setup (currently). But if you have the sources, you can play it on every plattform that supports Pygame.

3 Lifes Left!

There is a stable branch today. We have animations, a life counter sounds, and a 25 wave level.

The next steps would be to add towers with splash damage and a "Get off my lawn" campaigne mode.

We also learned, that the svn merge message does not mean, that committed code cannot disappear.

Day Three

Today we added a lot of stuff:
  • Towers can attack the creeps
  • Creeps die after they took a specific amount of damage
  • Modified Pathfinding, which was responsible for lagging
  • ...
So, looks like we can start playing...

Day Two

Today, we made an effort to bring some life to our test-level - and it's been crawling all over it!*

So, for most of the day, bugs were swarming the place - unchallenged and unstoppable. We now are pleased to announce the arrival of THE TOWERS.

Different types of towers can be bought, requiring a certain amount of some undefined resource, and placed on the map. Some day, they might even serve some purpose. :)

* Sometimes also lagging over it.

Day One

Today we started to implement a tower defense game. Until now we have enemies that are able to find their way between the start and the endpoint. The level is generated from a config file and creates some previews. Let's move on to some more game logic ;)
