PyWeek - Team Monster - feedback

This felt like an unfinished demo, and I don't see how the theme fits anything but the name? The controls feel very awkward - I think because I expect 'A' and 'D' to strafe in this style of configuration.

Pygame on Linux is not able to open MP3 files as sounds:
File "cockroach-forever/Cockroach-game/GAME/code/manager.py", line 100, in __init__
self.main = pygame.mixer.Sound("music/main.mp3")
pygame.error: Unable to open file 'music/main.mp3'

not sure if it's intended design but the enemies can clip through walls. can work on the gameplay and texture a little more.

Fun:
The game is fine, but there are some glitches that make the yellow things disappear or go through the walls. The rest of the game is just shooting the yellow objects and the only thing that changes is the background. More enemies could be added.
Innovation:
The theme is not very well implemented. It is a simple mechanic.
Production:
Some background colors were difficult to see and the controls were difficult to use. The code seems to be very worked and well done.

It seemed like a reasonably complete game experience to me: it seemed like I have to keep replaying some of the levels (like level 3 I had to do 3 times in a row): not sure if it's because I was failing or something? It was a bit hard to see the yellow player character against the level yellow background :) ... the music was pretty cool, I liked that thumping timpani rhythm :)

there is quite a room for improvement for the the graphics. top-down shooter is quite fun although the background is so yellow and my eyes hurt. cockroaches often spin and disappear for no reason. they can also walk on walls?
Nice game, after a while it gets a bit boring. Steering was strange, but after a while it worked well. I guess the levels load randomly. Or at least I could not find out if there is a difficulty progression.
