Forked Tail - Keys?

Has anyone got keys to work in Forked Tail's game? It keeps telling me I need a key to open a door, even though I've got one. Or at least I think I have -- there is a red key symbol lit up in the top centre box.

The red key opens the red door (it gives you access to the sword). I didn't notice it a first, but the doors have different colors :)

I guess reidrac already answered to the question, unless you are not able to open a red door with the red key.
The first red door you should find in the map is in the room next to the starting point, on the west side.
