Um... so... I'm back

Well, after some reflection and a couple of other compos, I've decided to enter the coming PyWeek.

After the fiascoes that were my past couple of PyWeeks, I wanted to get away for a while and try to get my act together. I'd gotten too dramatic and way too immature. I needed to stop that. So, I took time off and tried to get myself to a point where I could behave myself properly. After working through some emotional issues and getting some psychiatric issues straightened out, I feel that I can handle the pressures of a week-long competition. I've also reached a point where I can stick with a project and not flake out immediately. I can choose an idea and stick with it for a while. I do usually have more than one project at a time, but I can usually go without dropping them.

My plan is to use Panda3D, which I've gotten to know fairly well in the time I've been away. I will probably make either a shmup or a puzzle game, but I'm not sure yet.

It's nice to be back here, and I hope I'm still welcome after the way I've acted in the past. Less drama this time, I promise. :)

Hey, Akake!

You've been missed, welcome back!

I know you can finish games, Rose Ninja was pretty cool. You just have to remember the three stages:

Make It Playable!
If it's not playable quickly you can get bogged down in details and discouraged. Besides which being playable will help you to...

Make It Fun!
Because games should be fun. As long as the basic interactions with the game are enjoyable and satisfying you're on to a winner. All that's left is to...

Make It a Game!
Add some challenge, scores, content, graphics, sound and music. Always keep the fun parts of the play at the front but fill it out and make it feel finished.

Good luck this time round. I'm rooting for you!

Chard.
