A Theme-Specific Idea

I've looked at the cross-theme idea I had, and there's no definite link to the theme.

I'm going to actually use the theme instead of simply adjusting things to fit.

Waking up this morning, I had a foggy image in my head of a wooden tower that was improperly built and was thus very wobbly. There was a little demon running around with a hammer and a bunch of nails trying to secure the thing together.

That will be my game.

You will be in a big wooden structure that will weeble and wobble until you nail each of its layers down. Each layer will be supported by several columns, which are what the nails are supposed to go into.

The tower won't fall down, but it will keep wobbling and the effect will scale. If the ground under you wobbles too fast, you will fall off the tower and down to the bottom, which will hurt. Besides the potential for falling off of the tower, there is also the fact that moving ground forces you to move more carefully. (Read: The demon will move more slowly so he doesn't fall)

The demon has an unlimited number of nails, as he simply conjures them from the ether. However, if there is enough force on a given column, the nail will start to come loose. Nails won't break, but they may become bent enough to give poor support. This will take time, though, but will happen all the way down the tower. Forces on each layer are distributed evenly between the nails. There is a maximum amount of forces that a layer may be under, and there is a minimum amount of force for nails to be loosened. If you have properly secured the tower all the way up, you shouldn't have too many problems. Nails will have a certain amount of give to them, even when unbent. While this is mostly insignificant, it can stack up over time. Nails will only provide resistance when they are at the limit of the range that they will sway, and nails loosen in either direction separately.

I'm currently pondering giving the player a choice between two demons (One male, one female) but I'll have to see how much time it takes to make the sprites for one of them.

Right, theme-specific idea!

Time to get to work on it... I'll post about it again when I have something worthwhile.
