I forgot about the theme-aspect of this event, and now I'm stuck with a weird title for the game I WAS going to try making! At least, now, I'm actually forced to improvise the whole project.

You don't have to call your game that. Lots of people's games have different titles from their "team titles". But you can even change your team title if you want.

Indeed there's a separate field in the entry for the game's title.

Ugh, I just noticed I forgot to migrate the entry management stuff to the new site style :-(
