I give up...

That's it... I'm not motivated enough to continue working on the game, somehow I disappointed myself not being able to make a fun, pretty and on theme game

So, after all the code (not that much, anyway) I've done, I still have nothing to show you.

I hope I learnt how NOT to make a game for the next PyWeek.

That's a pity. See you in the next PyWeek then! :)
Start from scratch and consider it a 48 hour competition. That way, you've still plenty of time to enter something. Spent most of the week so far learning libraries and writing my own, playing with smoke, spending way too long (around 8 hours) just playing with graphics and then abandoning them, because quite frankly they were pretty poor, and generally having lots of fun. The actual game will probably only be 48 hours work, so that could still leave me time to playtest and tweek things.
When is the next py week?
I don't know when the next PyWeek is, but I do hope there will be a next! :-)
Too bad it didn't work out for you. I'm fully intending to have another in 6 months.
I feel your pain. Working a full-time during the competition week has sure put a damper on my progress. As has my car breaking :-\ Maybe I'll pull something off at the last minute ;) But probably not. Either way, I now have motivation to get back to work on my other python game that *doesn't* have a deadline, and hopefully do a good job on it. Thanks, richard, for putting this on. I'll definately be ready for the next one.
