a classic idea, but I think games of this genre require faster gameplay to keep being fun

Interesting concept and graphical style. Very incomplete though. Would be nice to see a finished version.

Where was the disappearing act? Cool retro graphical style. Good control system, movement was nice and smooth.

4 2 4

Though game is not finished it is an excellent idea and very well carried-out

Game not finished

I like retro games.

2 3 3

Whoa, are we back on the gameboy?

2 2 2

A little more time, and it could be a pretty cool game.

3 3 3 yes

Great style in the graphics. Controls were good. Had to DQ though 'cos where's the disappearing act?

2 2 2

keep on working hard!

5 2 4

Great! I loved it!

4 4 2

Very old school. It's like I traveled back in time to play this. Nicely done.

Not yet a game, but an impressive demo.

a fun game, is the down-key for the darkness for then theme?

3 2 2

This game is going to be great when its up and running! right now it feels more like a tech demo showing some platformer goodness. The gameboy style graphics are pretty cool, but I would have at least liked to see a reset when you die :) I really like the demo style of the main title screen.

I'm not engaged very much by pure fighting games, so this didn't do much for me. The minimal style of the graphics does have a certain charm, however.

3 3 3

Intresting aproach to a game it manages to make a good impressionn even with not bloathed graphics

2 3 3

Hm, tough evaluation. It seems quite well done, the graphics are understandable even though it has an Atari look with pixels the size of a button and only three colours. The parallel realm is a good idea but after the whole kaboodle of standing there doing magic for two seconds you expect to really vanish or something else than just flipping around. I'm amazed at the quality of the game achieved if you've only used Python for a week. Kudos!

2 2 4

- The idea of parallel dimension could provide interesting possibilites.

3 5 3

As always, I love the style you put into all your games! It did feel somewhat lacking gameplay wise, but I'll chalk that up to learning python at the same time. I fear what you will create next pyweek.

2 2 1

I like the graphic style, but I think it just needs more color. And some cool chiptune music! (for some reason I keep thinking something that sounds GameBoy'esque)

Anyways, it appears that death doesn't occur when you fall off the cliff, you can just walk around below the level.

3 3 4

I wish development had gotten further on this entry. I love the look, I love the gameplay idea. It just didn't get far enough along to warrant the marks it could have recieved. I'd really like to see it polished up though. RetroGames RULE!

3 2 4

The one level is very short, though i liked the transposition between the black and white modes. too bad there was no readme. also, some more extras were missing (i dont really know what but *something* is missing there). however, according to what you've written, you did quite a lot.. (:

3 2 1

I actually liked this one. Too bad it didn't have enough production. If it had better graphics and, say, 10 levels, it could be a great game.

2 4 2

Cool concept, love the GB platformer-style. Can't wait to see a finished version.

3 4 3

I actually quite enjoy the graphics. The actual game, on the other hand, needs some work.

3 4 2

I love the graphical style; Gameboyesque bleeps and bloops would have completed the retro
feel. That said, the game itself is a pretty standard platformer. I like the feel of the
physics, but it definitely needs to be quite a bit longer. The dark/light world dichotomy is
clever, and could be used in very interesting ways.

3 4 2

I really liked the Gameboy style graphics. The game concept was also cool, but the only level
was too short, and it was actually possible to finish it without ever going to the inverse
world. There were also performance problems. Use the dirty rects! I hope you make this into a
full blown game.

2 4 4

Kept falling to my death (only the game didn't end :). I really like the retro feel.

3 3 3

you ccan fall forever!

3 3 4

Awesomely stylish, as always. You have a real talent for amazing retro graphics. The parallel realm concept is very cool. I'd love to see a post-compo version.

3 3 5

The paraller realm feature is really neat, though I didn't even get it the first time I played.
There should be just a bit more indication about whether a certain floor exists in the other
dimension too. The game has some obvious flaws, like the incomplete game end handling, lack of
sounds and very short length, but the stylish retro graphics and nice ideas still won me over.
I'm eagerly waiting for the post-compo versions! :)

2 2 2

No new ideas here, I think. Colourless graphics don't inspire and the gameplay is too simple. A nice try anyway, especially if you didn't have experience of Python.
