I'm a huge fan of Pandemic, and this did the concept justice :)

The mechanics were quite fuzzy, but I still felt like I was at just the right mix of in-control-of-the-game and not-in-control-at-all.

nice game, but needs a bit more transparency

first got an error:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/Users/Lennart/Desktop/mutagion/main.py", line 90, in <module>
libengine.run()
File "core/libengine.py", line 57, in run

File "core/world.py", line 58, in draw
pygame.draw.circle(engine.surface,color,of(c.pos),3)
TypeError: integer argument expected, got float

but then i changed world.py line 46 to
return off([int(p[0]), int(p[1])],[int(offx), int(offy)])

Interesting take on the theme. I like the map and interface, although feedback on what effect actions were having was a bit hard to judge.

2 3 3

the influence of my actions was not obvious (had it an effect at all?)

3 3 3

nice game ;)

wow, i'm never leaving my house now

Well done.

I saved 0.3%! *FLEX*

The core presentation pulled me in. The user interface is *nice*.

I could not really tell how effective my choices were. The game seemed to move a lot faster than I could think. Those facts detracted from the fun. Maybe I'll catch on if I keep trying? Not sure.

Some fancier trappings, and accessibility for dummies like me or a tutorial mode, would have kicked this game to the top.

Given that you were short on time, the level of accomplishment is pretty incredible. I wish you had more time! I agree with your assessment. You really have something here with a lot of potential.

loved the screen effects

I like this kind of game, but not so easy to develop a strategy since I think I miss some information like these:
-is one doctor enough to block the infection in one city?
-what researcher are for? do they decrease the infection propagation speed? are they related to the city where I buy them?
-should I buy advertising only to increase influence, allowing me to isolate cities?
-is an isolated city immune from infection or is there a chanche to get infected anyway?
-what does affect the money income?

3 3 4

Interesting idea, but way too difficult. There isn't enough feedback so you can't tell what works and what doesn't.

3 3 4

I really liked the direct inclusion of the theme and the all-green look. I think the game balance needs a bit of work though. I found that if I got lucky early on I could score well but otherwise the things spiralled out of control too quickly.

I found it really hard to track what was going on in this game, especially considering the pace of the virus spread.

It's fairly pretty, in a green sort of way, and I love the juxtaposition of the relaxing jazzy soundtrack and the killer virus devastating the population of the US. However, the info bar covers the entire West Coast, which means that Seattle and the Bay Area get very little love.

The interface is very pleasing. I especially like the effect that happens when you try to buy something you can't afford. It's pretty opaque what effect each of the purchases does for you. Even isolating doesn't seem like it prevents things from spreading. The best I did was 20%, but I have no idea why.

2 3 2

Not very entertaining. It's hard to understand what is happening or the effects of my actions.

3 3 3

.

2 3 4

too hard

The main reason I rated this game as I did was because I didn't really know what to do. Presumably, you're supposed to hire researchers and doctors to combat the disease, but I couldn't tell if what I did had any effect. The only way I could prevent a city from going under was to isolate it. I liked the visual effects and music.

Add a tutorial and some more things to do and I'll be happy.

2 2 2

Meh, didn't really go anywhere. You hire doctors and the infection stops...

Don't hire me for the CDC :)

2 3 4

*Cough* *Cough* Cool!

3 5 5

nice

2 3 2

Ok a neat simulation of viral spreading but else? Didn't see whether doctors or researchers have any impact..
