PyWeek - We Share A Braincell - feedback

fireclaw
A very simple game, but it's working and has at least most of the basic elements a game should have.

This was a pretty fun experience: I didn't realise I could shoot until I read the game page again, so you could consider adding the "click to shoot" instruction in the game so ppls know they can do that, because that adds a little extra dimension to the game play that makes it more fun. The graphics and music were pretty cute: I couldn't see a credits file to know if you guys did that yourself during the week or not, but if so, good work!

The game runs but it seems like I fall through the floor of the first platform. It looks like a problem detecting collisions. I'm on pygame 1.9.6 if it makes a difference.

The graphics were nice, especially the eagles! The gameplay fell a bit flat.

death is inevitable...
The eagles are always faster than you.
Congrats on your first game jam!

Grats on your first entry! It would have been nice to include a README or a requirements.txt file so that I knew which version of pygame to install. Also after one of my longer runs, there were no platforms spawned to jump on, so I could only stand and get caught, or jump off the cliff.

the movement should have been with velocity and acceleration
sometimes the keys are not working well

Love to see it. Worked well, a few things that you could've changed is making a menu when you die with options to quit or try again, making the score only go up or stay the same. I like the animations and sound effects. Good job!
I like the animations on the eagles and bunny. The music is calming. I wish there was a way to change the game volume, as the jump sound effect was a bit grating and repetitive. Also, one of the times I died, I got a bug where the platforms did not reappear and I had to close and open the game to fix it.
