Mutant Radioactive Kittens
As expected, I didn't have as much time to work on this as I'd hoped. Here's what is supposed to be the premise:
You have been kidnapped by a mad scientist and must escape his facility. However, his mutant radioactive kittens stand in your way! You must collect bits of string in order to distract the kittens and make your escape. If you have enough string, you can also braid it into rope for climbing down at certain parts.
As it stands, you can pick up string but it can't actually do anything with it. Also, the kittens don't move. Basically, to beat the level, all you have to do is not touch any kittens and get to the door. It is possible to climb up and down existing ropes, however.

Ideas
Still trying to come up with a solid idea. The best I've got so far is a platform style game, where you have to collect enough bits of string to distract the mutant radioactive kittens whilst you make your escape...
I'm thinking there will be very little animation and definitely no physics. I don't have a lot of time to work on it this week, so I gotta keep it simple. The goal is to submit something playable.
Crunch time
I can't believe the week is almost over...I'll be very busy Saturday doing about 50% of the game. I knew I wouldn't have much time to work on it during the week, but it didn't help that I had to erase and rewrite half my code (ok, maybe a quarter).
Anyway, here's a screen shot, showing off my most excellent place-holder artwork! I'll probably end up having to use some of it in the final submission.
Procrastination
Well I decided to go rock climbing today instead of working on my game. As a result, I only had about 2 hours to finish over 50% (that is, it didn't quite get finished). But it is somewhat playable! Just not in a very interesting way...
Though I must say, this was further than I've gotten on developing a game, and I'll probably keep working on it until it's a little more complete.
