Enjoyed the novel a lot, and kept hanging on the end...

good idea. nice to play.

Pretty good writing, and a nice way to spend some time. A bit tedious however, and not much in the way of interactivity. The story is very interesting, and the atmosphere pulls you into the world. The descriptions are, if not memorable, at least quite vivid. You could continue creating maybe a couple more acts. Keep writing.

Gripping plot!

Neat idea.

a lot of effort in the story, but these kind of games, for me, are very boring.

Fun to see a text game. Good writing too.

Not my cup of tea, and kinda cheating by only having text...but somewhat interesting concept.

Text based goodness! Very cool story, although I'm not a huge text based fan. MUDs sort of confuse me in many ways. The game was also a little short, but I can see how having to write THAT much is just plain time consuming.

nice graphics :P

so, what has happened to alyssa?! :) gimme act 2! :)

Intriguing, you've done a good job at drawing the reader/player in.
It would've been nice if the interface was a bit sexier--perhaps accepting the shortest unique verb to match the currently possible verbs, or something.

Nice adventure. Nice writing. No production, right? Well, I believe the characters had depth and the locations were loomy. Plus the weather effects were very realistic. Je.

Cool, I've never seen a text adventure done for a competition before. It's quite well written as well. It's too bad you can't see the ending if you run the game from a gui.

- The story seems to be very long. Too long for me to read it. But I admire your writing skill.

I think it's cool that you did a text adventure :)

I'd say that your production values are about average for a text adventure, though it could be brought higher if you added coloured text and sound :)

Anyways, cool game!

Technically just a fairly ordinary CYOA, but the storyline was intriguing enough to keep me playing... darn frustrating to find out it's only half the story! Will there will be more acts forthcoming? I hope we won't have to wait until PyWeek 4...

Great story! Needs a bit more interaction before I would call it a game, but it is quite good. (Side note, after you reactivate the AC, the next message says the AC is still off.)

Damn I liked this!

I have always liked interactive novels.

3 3 2

Well I guess it was fun to read it, but I didn't really see any puzzles. I guess some of my actions
affected Pearce's fate, but that's all I could gather, really. I hope you finish the game with
some actual good puzzles and the rest of the story. The writing was good except that I got
confused in the ending scene on who was saying what. The main character also kept complaining
that the A/C was off in his office even after I turned it on.

I really like the story, but even though the main focus of this is in the text, it could've been
presented a bit more graphically. Some ambient noise in the background, like the sound of the
rain and the cars would've been welcome too.

Don't think I've ever really played any interactive fiction before, besides Stugan and my own wannabe clones of it back in the toddler era ;)

The story was pretty well written and immersive (though not very interactive), I guess it took me almost an hour to get through which is more than I would have expected to spend on any entry - in fact I pretty much lost track of time :P

Noticed some minor bugs like the description of the office not changing as I turned on the lights and A/C, but nothing critical (unless the abrupt program exit isn't supposed to be an ending)

There's a bug - after flipping the breaker the description is still "The office is dark..." but I do have the option to read the case file. I've not run out of story yet, but I'm finding it quite a good read :)
