Diary Entries
Day 2
Finally had time to think about and decide on a project idea. Started programming the base classes and planning the rest of the project.
Day 3
Got some basic player/opponent classes that are working with another battle system class for turn based combat. Going to start working on the abilities and damage system. Then I'll be working in the genetic alteration portion for the playable character(s).
Day 4
Day 3 and 4 have been progressively slow. So far the games battle system works fine and I have got abilities working correctly along with buffs. The rest of Day 4 will be used to add a debuff class and make it usable in game. If finished soon enough, I will start with the genetic system and attempt to start balancing the abilities and allow for upgrades/learning new abilities.
Day 6
Probably not going to be able to submit this game. I have the battle system working great but I have no other content. Just two black squares that fight each other with a maximum of 5 usable abilities. I have never written a turn based strategy game so it will be good practice. I will continue this project even after the competition ends and I will release it as soon as possible. Aside from content, I am also missing art and music so I have a long way to go.
