Not sure where the theme was. Its a hard game. Cheated a bit and gave me 200 lives, but still didn't manage to get to the end (if there is one?).

Pretty good game overall but I couldn't find anything that relates this to the game to the challenge theme
Also, something that could be improved is the audio, if I survive long enough, the enemy movement sounds saturate and don't mix well together

Hi. I had a hard time killing even one baddy, even after I slowed the tick rate from 60 to 30. The main thing that made this game impossible for me is you can only shoot the baddies while facing them left or right, and you have to face away from them to avoid being rushed and killed. The only way to kill them is to run towards them while they rush you. And then they multiply when you don't kill them fast enough. It is a fast spiral of death for the player. A better input mechanic would have made the game playable, I'm sure. Maybe I am missing something. If so, sorry. But you made a game in a week, and that is an accomplishment! :)
Tips:
- Mechanics are central to Fun, but not the only aspect. Story, visuals, sound and graphic effects all add up.
- Integration with the theme, taking a tired genre or concept and giving it twist, or coming up with something novel will boost your Innovation score.
- And making the game and presentation look polished or professional, more than just a rush prototype, and making the game setup, startup and controls accessible to players will boost your Production score.
I'm curious about the name Meade. If it is interesting I'd recommend the project page or README, or both, to include such info.

Good game, but it is very difficult, I had to cheat (Change the code), to defeat all the enemies and see the boss.
The theme is not obvious, you have to see the boss to understand, it would be better to explain the theme at the beginning.

It didn't work. I had no idea what to do. My gun seemed to do nothing, and the exit sign meant nothing. 0/5
Wow, this is tough! Are you supposed to be able to win? I survived until there were like 50 of those things on the screen but I was only able to take out one or two.
