Shawnee State Army of Hair
We are a group of four students at Shawnee State University, which is located in Portsmouth, OH. ncompton13 and Azaran are both in the 3D art game degree offered at Shawnee while roadkillgrill and sam_bushman are in the game programming degree.
This is our first pyweek, so this will be a real learning experience for us.

Day one: Pre-Production
With the first day almost to a close, our team has come up with our basic game concept (gameplay mechanics, world the game characters exist in, ect). RoadKillGrill and myself have aken on the task of implementing kinematics into the animation of our characters. We have decided to attempts a game that mixes Rock em' Sock em' Robots with Robot/break dancing. Hopefully all goes well.

The real work begins
Roadkill and I began programming the engine for our game. Roadkillgrill and ncomption have begun resizing of images. azaran has started developing the gui. Lots of work ahead. yehaw!
Day 3: Progress is being made :)
We have our first screenshot today! This is the beginings of our engine as well as a neat display tool for our artists to use to get an idea of what their robot parts will look like when put together. Its not much yet, but I'm proud of our progress so far. enjoy!
No coding done today, but sound content is begining
Due to school conflicts, Roadkill and myself were unable to code today, but we were able to begin production of our sound assets. Azaran is coming along nicely with the gui and ncomption is continuing to develop some nice robot-part concepts. Lets hope we can get this thing together in time.
Cheers and take care :)
Time running out, much work to be done
Things are looking hairy. Due to poor engine desing on my part, RoadKIll and myself must rewrite the engine. Art and music continue to come along nicely. Friday and Saturday will be a time to test our abilities to work under pressure. Lets hope for the best :)
p.s.: here is a screenshot of one of our backgrounds for our game.

One day to go, much to be done
We managed to rebuild a much more useful engine, or at least node class plus a few functions. This latest screen shot shows our sprite loader/animation creator. at present, the user may select a node, rotate it, and save the resultant coordinates in an external text file. The user may also load in an exported set of coordinates. 90% of our art assets are done and our sounds are at about the same point. RoadKill and myself now bear teh brunt of the work to be done. I'm honestly not expecting a full game done by midnight, but an interactive program will do.
take care and have a good night:)

FIle Submition, incomplete, but much progress.
For our first time out, I am surprised at how much we got done! We plan on working on this project more and releasing a more complete version.
We came up with 2 MD5 hashes, so here are both!

via md5summer: 2dff113c97e53540ecbb90fc8f80cb09
note: we are utterly confused as to how to submit our entry. Here is a link to a copy that we have submitted: Download Entry
please keep in mind that this is a VERY incomplete version. This week was fun, and we can't wait to attempt the challenge again next time!
