Hardware survey

Hey Richard - If it's not too big of an issue (and it might not really matter, in the big scheme of things), but would you consider adding a couple items to the hardware survey?

- True SMP
- Hyper threading
- Multiple monitors

What do you mean by "True SMP" -- multiple CPUs?

Hyper threading should be pretty much assumed if respondents indicate Intel CPU (really, who's going to be on a P3 these days ;)

Have added "multiple monitors" since that one's easy :)

Yeah, by SMP I mean multiple CPUs, not just multicore.

I thought hyperthreading was just on the Xeon chips, not the P4. Learn something new every day, I guess. Ok, don't add that one. :)

Pentium M's don't have hyperthreading, and as far as I know, not all P4's have HT.

And three of the computers I mostly work on are a 550MHz AMD K6, a 700MHz P3, and a 866MHz via C3... So there are probably lots of us (specially outside the US and europe) running on old hardware

Same here. I'm currently on a cranky old Apple G3 (333 MHz), although I have access to slightly faster intel hardware (700 MHz P3).

I couldn't tick too many boxes on Richard's system poll :P

It's supposed to be what you have that you can run games on. It's supposed to help people decide what platforms to target with their games.
