Slow progress

It's 3am for me and I've still don't have anything worth showing. My idea is that Amytis, for whom the hanging gardens of babylon were built, must defend them from time traveling alien bugs. Something I've always wanted to see in game is tight integration of using weapons for propulsion, like rocket jumping but this is built into the design instead of a happy accident. I also loved the movie Shoot'em Up. The one thing about it was that people had told me that it was constant gunfire. Not true; there are some times without gunfire. So I thought it would be fun to have a game that nearly was all gunfire. If I have time to do anything in the way of cutscenes, everything will be firing in them. Hopefully tomorrow night I'll get in some crude art so it isn't just colored blocks and can post a meaningful screenshot.
