Nicely rendered characters. Gameplay system seems to be pretty well fleshed out.

3 3 3

Some graphical glitches. Has promise.

2 3 3

Stairs seemed to self-destruct after walking up them (also a rendering bug with stairs: they jiggle around when you walk).

3 4 3

Good isometrics, but the escape key shouldn't kill the whole thing.

The character's animations are good.

I had thought that there was no theme and the game was unfinished, but it seems it was just my
mistaking the stairs for a rug, glad I figured that one out. All I would suggest is that you make
it more obvious what are stairs, and that you have walls surrounding the entire level ;) Also,
the game starts out really easy, which is good, but it stays easy for about 4 levels, gets really
difficult for 2 levels, then is quiet again for several more, then jumps again... which can get
rather annoying :/ It should also be easier to tell when you upgrade, and, more importantly,
when you have a new skill, I accidentally skipped a few power attack levels because I didnt
realize that I had upgraded, which made the difficulty a bit much at times :P

As fun as nethack/hack'n'slash games are, I couldn't really get into this one.

Well, what to say... The idea and the game is good and fun! Making progress is far to easy right now, but for this one week challenge - wow! :o I would be happy if there would be some kind of "Shops" [and therefore also "Gold" that can be looted from the enemies], maybe also class-selection, more stats and real level-ups, more skills! - Oh, yes, and of course some way of name selection ;P
All in all, nice game that really have some potential - Good work!

One of my big problems was that fighting seemed to continue even after I run away. Also a few graphical glitches here and there. Nice animations though.

3 3 3

This seems to be a nice engine, but this kind of games really isn't my thing.
Still impressive concidering the time limit of a week.

4 3 2

Walls seem to disappear at the right and bottom edges of the level.

2 2 1

just an rpg. the only way is up??

3 4 3

Well done, needs some polish.

Did you see the South Park when Cartman and the gang are playing World of Warcraft and he says "make sure you've got your potions mapped to your hotkeys"? Yeah... Um, DON'T MAKE ESCAPE DUMP YOU OUT IN THE COLD!!! I try to escape out of menus and it all ends in tears. The sprites are gorgeous though.

2 3 2

Simple hacking and slashing gets repetitive real quick.

2 2 2

fighting should be more fun since there isn't much else to do and doing everything with
keystrokes is difficult

4 2 2

Fun little RPG

2 2 2

Hard, I can't get past the first level.

2 3 3

Should improve in lot of aspects..

Gah, I spend like 4 hours on this game before I realized that there was no end ><! It has an addictive quality, but you get a little too powerful after you learn all your special moves and deck out your AC. Otherwise, I think you should finish it, because it has the potential to be a good activity for a couple of hours, -provided- it has an ending, and a boss or something.

Fun game! I had a real blast with this one, and played it for a lot longer than I expected to. I like how the player automatically attacks those that it's near -- it makes for a more casual and fun experience. I'm also pleasantly surprised at how balanced the game is. There's not much challenge, but at least I don't feel like I'm totally destroying the game (then again, I rarely have to use potions). Last night I was playing it as I was going to bed, and decided to leave it running. When I woke up, the level was filled with monsters and I had gained about 10 levels and was surrounded by bags of loot. Kindof a fun side effect of automatic monster spawning and the auto-attack feature. I also had good enough armor that they couldn't really hurt me, and any slight damage I might incur would be taken care of at the next level up. So in that regard, the game could use more challenge, but it was still quite a bit of fun.
The level generator sometimes creates levels that are too large, and once even generated the stairs off the map (I had to guess that the stairs were in the black area, and so I walked into it, pressed "s", and it took me up).
The stairs also seem loosely mounted to the ground, such that they seem to wiggle around visually as you walk around the map -- it's just a little odd.
All told, well done! The game kept my interest really well, and I had a lot of fun playing it (much more than I expected).
I'm also impressed that you got save games implemented -- that's a really nice touch.

Really well done, I'll be playing this even when the contest is not forcing me too :)

4 3 2

i like rpgs. i dont like this one did not end. needed more content or events

2 2 1

It would have been helpfull if the controls was printed on the screen while playing..

3 3 3

Not bad for a week, although I wasted a boat load of time on the game until I realized there wasn't really a way to win.

4 3 3

The game is not really a challenge (yet) with so many potions and so much EXP gained from monsters (why use potions if you'll level up soon enough?) .... But still, it is very addictive (find better items! more potions! where are the stairs?!) and hopefully the game will mature a little more after pyweek... Definitely fun!

2 3 1

Well, the game seriously tries to be another roguelike, but fails sort of miserably - there's zero challenge even when trying to advance quickly, the graphic engine has glitches, and the environment is uninteresting. At least the player and monster graphics are decent, and the results of the random level generation are ok.

3 4 3

Although I am not really into this genre I did enjoy the game.

2 4 2

Interesting way to make the game appear to be 3D.

3 4 2

This game is an adventure game with many rogue-like qualities. Currently, it is too easy
though.

4 4 4

That was probably one of the better games overall of the competition...i'm addicted...Only thing is, is there an end to this climbing?

2 3 2

Inconsistent graphics. While it has great images for the characters, anything else in the game looks bad.

The first few moments of the game might be slightly interesting, but it gets dull after a while.

I think monsters should be roaming around the tower instead of just waiting for you to walk near them. Also, monsters popping out of nowhere looks bad. Better to have them spawned off-screen.

No sound. =(

Also, is the game endless?

Congratulations, this is one the games I didn't delete directly after playing. It was quite fun. Of course, I am a fan of all kinds of RPG's and hack and slash dungeon crawlers, so this was a treat for me. Good use of Reiner's tiles, which I recognized right away. There was some stuttering with some of rendering of tiles and enemies, but nothing that hurt the game. The item and power up management was good. This game is in the top 20% of the games here in my opinion.
