Seemed like a pretty cool platformer. Could have used a little bit more speed for the feel, but the graphics were good and the animations were good.

3 3 2

A found the game a little difficult.

4 3 3

Fun to play, but not radical.

3 3 1

..

2 3 2

nice just. i just hate plataformers.

2 4 2

This isn't my sort of game... but I tried it anyway. Frustratingly difficult is my lasting impression. Still it looked good, no obvious glitches, simple but effective animation. Good job.

3 5 3

Nice graphics!

2 2 2

I didn't get very far.

3 3 3

Don't think I didn't think carefully about the 3-3-3:

Production would have been higher if you didn't force full screen on me with on way to flatten, along with a tiny little eye-bleeding window.

There's only so much innovation you can get with a platform game, and the buying parts was kinda nice.

Was it fun? A bit. The respawning of enemies was a pain, and it was quite easy to farm the start for parts. Choosing stuff to buy was also fun. Running around killing things wasn't amazingly fun.

4 5 3

Well done, had much fun!

2 5 4

I fellt quite lonely walking around not knowing were to go, and the ammo meter made the game
really difficult. On the other hand, it is quite impressive and if you continue working on it,
it might become great!

3 4 4

Nicely done! Even though you didn't get everything done that you wanted to, it's still really impressive -- well done! The music is a great choice, and I really like all of the sprites -- it's so wonderfully old-school. Good job on the level design and the sprites -- they go really well together, and the parts of the level that you got to polish up look really well done. I like the idea of the parts-for-upgrades, that's pretty cool. I was impressed with the floating eye AI -- he's got a nice and predictable (but challenging) behavior. Overall, well done!

4 5 2

Great job

3 2 1

.

3 3 3

nice platforming action.

3 3 3

Nice graphics, well done, no noticeable bugs, well finished. I didn't find it very fun, but it's a polished game.

3 3 2

Quite tricky, even with regular returning to the shop. I was a bit offput by the ease of falling
back to much earlier points in the level.

3 3 3

...

3 5 3

It's some sort of mini-Metroid game. I like it.

3 3 2

Good

2 5 2

a solid entry, but i found it frustrating to play. with some more time and effort, this could be an excellent game.

3 4 3

Titchy screen! Starting from the same point each time I died got old pretty quickly.

1 1 1

the robot is not coherent.

1 1 1

the robot is not coherent whit this game

2 3 3

Rather difficult. The enemies either sit there or kill you. I suppose it takes a bit of investment of time to build up your stats and get the hang of things, but there are so many other entries..

I have to just about press my face on the monitor to play. Some higher resolutions would have been nice.

5 5 3

Zeliard, right? Great job! Very feature rich.

2 2 3

I see potential here, but the game play was clunky and the level design confusing

4 3 2

The music choice wasn't my favorite. No other sound effects made the gameplay a little less enjoyable. Overall the game ran and played well. No feedback when you die.

2 2 2

I really didn't like this game at all, it was a typical Idea, and the animation and gameplay wasn't very smooth or fun.

2 1 1

The eyeball enemies seem to be too hard because they shoot too fast.

4 4 1

Nice classic platformer, it's cool that you added so many items to buy. The map gets a bit repetitive after a bit, and it gets boring having to return to the beginning if one wants to buy stuff. But very nice game overall, even if it's just a "platformer with robot character thrown in"

2 2 2

Look similar to:

No menu, no story, gameplay is not good.

I didn't like it :(

5 4 4

Wow, this is a really nice game. The graphics are nice and provide a retro feel, and the central gameplay mechanic (gathering parts to get more stuff) reminds me of platformer RPGs like Super Metroid. It's rough around the edges and it's pretty hard (those eyeballs keep getting me) but what it has it does well.

3 3 2

Nice music track. Even though it's not my kind of game, it's really well made and fun to play -- too bad that I suck and couldn't even change some parts for an upgrade! :)

Congratulations!

5 5 2

Awesome retro nintendo style production! The music was sweet, the feel was great, I generally enjoyed playing it.

5 3 4

I really like this game. Although it's rather incomplete it's really fun to shoot monsters to
collect parts and get more upgrades. With a few tweaks it would be a great game.

3 4 2

Kinda fun, but haaard.

3 3 3

I liked the engine you put together. I never did find the boss, even after using your 'hacks' suggested in the readme. I think you should be very happy with the one level -- it seems plenty long enough.

Some things that might help the gameplay --
a map?
maybe picking up parts refills health and ammo a bit?
those damn eyeballs are still really strong... :)

1 4 2

Very interesting level design - I really want to explore it. However the beholder-type
enemies are just completely disgusting way too hard, so I can't.

4 3 3

Very nice game - It's sad that no sound effects were added (and no impressive epical cinematic cutscene at the end ;o) ), but from what is there, the game looks pretty good.

In the beginning I had some troubles with the game itself - I mostly got stuck "farming" the first three killable monsters to get some upgrades; I still have no idea how to effectly kill those blasted eye thingies, without getting hit to much XD

Beam Weapons FTW! (btw ^^)

1 2 2

I don't like very much

5 4 3

Yay! I love old-school side-scrollers. I really hope you continue work on this one. More enemy types, and a save-game system are much desired

5 5 3

A little rough around the edges, but I played through the entire game, and it was very enjoyable. What I would change: harder enemies give more parts (eyeballs for instance), more shops throughout the level (very tiring going back to the beginning every time), feedback on how much boss is getting hurt, and maybe some checkpoints along the way so that death wouldn't mean going back to the start yet again. I really would love to see this game completed, with 4 or 5 more levels of at least this quality, and maybe some sections in between them to give a breather (towns?).

4 5 4

Quite fun. It's a platformer but the part system gave the innovation a boost. Great productions. An additonal enemy of two might have raised the score a bit but the three have nice variety. I found it a bit hard but then again I suck.

2 4 2

I love the old-school style of the game. Unfortunately it isn't fun ... yet. The initial level is too complex and repetitive. With some more work, I think this could be a great game.

3 3 1

Fun:
I had fun playing your game. The physics (if you can call it so) are good and it was fun clearing the level and upgrading the robot.

Innovation:
As you say it, the game bases on several retro games and doesn't introduce any new gameplay elements. Although its fun to play, there is no innovation.

Production:
The graphics remember me to the good old 80s c64 style. Nice programmer arts :) and that the robot immage changes according to the installed upgrades is a nice detail. Also the enemy ai fits well. The fact that the pathfinding routines for the flying eyes stucked several times is no problem for me. That gived me time to shoot them down :)

Overall:
A nice, bugfree (i didn't find any) and challenging jump and shoot.

P.S. Has turrican something to do with your idea ;) I knwo that turrican is a human with robot suit but the levels and enemies are familiar.

3 3 2

This game is cool, but a bite conventional.

3 2 1

Classic idea, not *very* robot related.

3 3 2

Game was extremely hard. I was continually frustrated by getting sent to the beginning of the
level whenever I died. I liked the graphics and it played well, but it was just too hard.
